Estefans Buy Stake In Miami Dolphins

MIAMI — Singer Gloria Estefan and her husband, producer Emilio Estefan, are bringing the Miami Sound Machine to the Miami Dolphins.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross announced at a news conference Thursday that the Estefans are joining the NFL franchise as minority owners. Gloria Estefan says she is a "hard core" sports fan and is happy to be a part of her hometown team.

Last month, Ross also began a partnership with Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville enterprise, which includes Land Shark Lager. Buffett has yet to accept Ross' invitation to become a minority owner, but the Dolphins' stadium has been renamed Land Shark Stadium for this season.

She took a very vocal stand about the Cuban boy, Elian. She was all for keeping him in America and away from his father in Cuba. I haven't listened to any of her music since! I couldn't believe her political stance. I had never realized, until then, how out of step with humanity and evil the Older Cubans in Miami were.

Years ago I knew a harmonica player in Miami named Gus. He did a gig for the Estafan's and they stiffed him the lousy $50. 00 they were supposed to pay him .
Who cares . They can buy DisneyWorld .for all I care . She still can't sing, and he is a cheap tightwad .

They will only a very small portion...thank God. We don't need celebrities buying into professional teams who otherwise may not know anything about the game. I am a huge football fan.
