'Housewife' Offers Advice To Jon & Kate

As Jon and Kate Gosselin go their separate ways, another famous couple are weighing in on how to "stay in love" under the intense spotlight of reality TV.

The Real Housewives of New York's Alex McCord, 35, and husband of nearly a decade, Simon van Kempen, say that the key to keeping their family together while starring in a TV show is to make your relationship a priority.

What Alex and Simon have is a great, enduring love. They are devoted to each other and their children. I don't think Jon and Kate ever loved each other like Alex and Simon do. Kate shows absolutely no respect for Jon at all and respect is the foundation of any great relationship. And they both seem more devoted to fame then to family.

Alex and her husband treat each other with respect and you can see the love between them. Jon and Kate are totally different. Kate treated her husband less than human. I don't blame him for wanted to leave her.

Kate was on a different journey than the one originally started. Watching the early bits when the proposal came, it was obvious she had different plans than being in love with her soontobe H.

This 'couple' has an aupair and two children spaced a few years apart.
I highly doubt they realize what it is like to raise 8 children 6 of whom are the same age.

Besides this show is on about twice a year and each couple gets a small amount of air time.
Their children have hardly grown up on TV and our living room.

Jon and Kate just let this all slip away. It's sad. To bad they can't try to navigate it all and get marital help the whole aspect of the strain of parenting and making it work would be better tv then the easy out.

They may not realize the difficulties of raising 8 kids at once, but (at least on screen) the Housewife and her hubby seem more mature than Jon and Kate.

It does seem to be a curse if your in a reality show you get divorced, Ozzie and Sharon Osbourne is the only marriage that I know of that has survived so far.

Probably because they march to a different drummer entirely. For folks who have gone through as much craziness as the Osbornes, their little reality show was probably some of the less crazy times they have had.
