MARIA BELEN CHAPUR (SHAPUR?): Mark Sanford's Mistress (PHOTO, NEWS, VIDEO, INFO)

María Belén Chapur has been identified as Mark Sanford's alleged mistress. Some outlets ID her as Maria Belen Shapur with an "S." Politico links to an Argentinian outlet that identifies the mother-of-two.

The media has been camped out by her apartment building near the Buenos Aires zoo. Maria Belen Chapur is 43 and has the two sons from a previous marriage.

Maria is described by a neighbor as a beautiful brunette who plays tennis, goes jogging, and has large eyes. It was previously, erroneously reported that she worked for an agriculture company.

The NYPost claims to have a Maria Belen Chapur photo, seen down right, and Guanabee has also got the Maria Belen Chapur photo, seen here, and reports it is an authentic screengrab from a news video.

The video shows Chapur in New York City covering the 9/11 attacks as a reporter for Argentine TV station Canal America, reports McClatchy:

This much is known: Chapur worked as a journalist and translator of English for about a year for the Argentine television station Canal America, according to Gabriel Bartos, who was then a producer with Canal America. Bartos said that Chapur went to New York after the 9-11 attacks in 2001 to report for the station.

TMZ talked to a bar owner, who says he watched Sanford and Chapur kiss and cuddle over the weekend, and said Maria has green eyes, dirty blonde hair and a "banging body."

A neighbor also described Sanford arriving at Chapur's apartment building late last week with a small sports bag.

Emails published in The State also are addressed to a woman named Maria.

Blackbook has unsourced information that Maria Belen Chapur went to the "posh St. Catherine's Moorlands School in the preppy Belgrano neighborhood, then graduated from the stodgy Universidad Católica Argentina with a degree in (wait for it) International Relations."

Enough of this subject.Th­e more Mark Sanford opens his mouth, he sounds like Kate and Jon Gosselin and is in needs of his own reality show.
He should shut up, if he has any feelings for his sons.
This is getting more hysterical every time we have to hear from him.
Someone please tell Mark Sanford only Hollywood actorsor sports icons can fall from grace, and we would forgive them.

I feel for his kids too. But really- he and his wife were already separated - he fell for someone else.
Why all the uproar ? It's none of our business. We should not be so interested in someones private life - Thats just my 2 cents. and Publishing his private e-mails is so tacky.
His big mistake was not letting people know where he really was- since he is a Governor.

Sorry if the natural eyebrow look disturbs your idea of "aesthetic­ally pleasing." In Argentina women focus more on healthy weight and a toned body. I suppose it's just a very different idea of what's beautiful. Oh, by the way, we aren't crazy about our toe nails, either : )

I just read all the email that 'The State' has posted in their paper, and I gotta tell you, my old 68 year old man heart kinda goes out to him. I've been in love like that maybe three times in my life and I know exactly where that man is coming from. Exactly. It is clear to me that he didn't know how deeply he was lost in that woman and now is truly struggling to find a dignified way to salvage as many feelings as possible. His priorities are obvious, too, in the way he wants to construct a place for the 'two of them to exist.'

Before I posted this I went to the 'Tea Party' site in Columbia, I think it was, and listen to him make the same old RightWing arguments about "Give me back MY Tax Money" in front of a couple thousand pitifully ignorant RedNecks, and I thought very seriously about NOT feeling his pain. That man honestly needs to drop all this Political Crap and make arrangemen­ts to get his A.S.S. back down South and put all this Political Crap out of his mind, and just try "Being" for the rest of his, and her, lives. IMHO...

Yeah right! get a divorce, leave your kids as well as the wife so you can be "political­ly correct" before you are sure that you want to spend the rest of your life with the new woman. Personally­, I think Sanford handled the situation about as right as he could. His wife was aware of the situation. When a marriage is dead, divorce is not the only solution. Sometimes people have to work out different alternativ­es because of the realities of the situation. The Voyeurism, hypocrisy, and sanctimoni­ous silliness that the media and the public is exhibiting is ridiculous­. There are far more important issues that need to be addressed.

Exposing hypocracy in soon to be powerful politician­s is a good use for the media. This guy was the head of the Repub governor's conference­, a stepping stone to national office. This man condemned others for the same behavior, pandering to his voters. If these voters can be educated that these people are all the same, it takes away their wedge issues and they have to run on real issues like how their regressive policies affect the middle class.
