This can't be real.
A solution to the pirate crisis would be improving the condition of Somalia and getting it's waters under control, not sailing around shooting people.
It's so sadistic and disgusting that I fully believe it. Killing as adventure sports. It probably wouldn't be a first by a long shot, anyway.

The pirates deserve to have healthy and abundant fish along their coastline without corporate polluters dumping toxic and radioactive waste in what should be soverign territory (that way they can resume being the poorest of poor fisherman in the world). If Exxon was dumping toxic waste off the Florida coastline, would some brave Americans try to stop them? For the people who think killing pirates is the solution, imagine yourself a poor Somali fisherman (pre pirating decision) starving with your family for months at a time. No jobs are available other than fishing and farming (and the fishermen can't afford land despite the fact that people already own all the fertile land.....and it's not very fertile, anyway), and the government is beyond corrupt. How many people have the pirates actually killed? At last count, my numbers amounted to one Yemeni fisherman (who was probably fishing illegally and might have done something to provoke the pirate who killed him). I'm giving up on Americans understanding complex issues. Yeah, just shoot everyone you disagree with, that's how to create more problems, but it's what we do best.

Hey, someone who understands the underlying causes of the problem (but forgot to mention illegal corporate overfishing and TOXIC waste-dumping. I wonder which tastes better as a fish aftertaste: toxic or nuclear waste. I'm sure neither bring out the flavor of the fish as well as good wine, but I digress). I don't agree with the second to last line, but that's more correct than incorrect if you look at the whole of human history. As for the last line, I think it has, we just don't realize it yet.
