New York Daily News:

They were the riots that spawned a revolution, the nights of protest that led to the dawn of the gay rights movement. Forty years ago this weekend, police raids to root out patrons at the Stonewall Inn caused an uprising whose reverberations are still felt today.

Stonewall Revisited? Fort Worth, TX Gay Bar Raided Last Night
http://dym-sum.com/2009/06/28/no166/

'He was just walking to the bathroom when an officer grabbed him and shoved him against a wall and pulled his head back,' said Chris Hightower of Fort Worth, a friend of the patron. 'He (the injured man) was then thrown to the ground and three other officers were on him.'

I was still standing near the entrance to the VIP lounge with a friend when an officer approached a man standing there. The man had water in his hand...The officer then said that he was going to arrest him for public intoxication. The man said, 'You can"t do that I am just standing here right now drinking water.' At the time the officer shoved the man over towards the wall near the dressing room and then back to the rear wall near the men"s restroom, then down onto the floor. Several other officers, made their way back there to hold that ONE MAN down on the ground as they placed restraints on him.

Tammye Nash at the Dallas Voice has spoken to the sister of the critically injured man, Chad Gibson:

'However, a second CAT scan performed this afternoon showed that the bleeding in his brain had increased.'

Kristy said Chad has awake today, but that he has no memory of the incident in the bar and that his memory of events today have been spotty."

Obama deputy campaign manager abandons DOMA & DADT as priorities
http://www.americablog.com/2009/07/obama-deputy-campaign-manager-abandons.html

"After two weeks of the Obama White House reeling over the gay backlash caused by the anti-gay DOMA brief, which compared gay marriage to incest and pedophilia, we now have...

First, that the burden for doing anything pro-gay in the remaining three and a half years of the Obama administration is now shifted to Congress. Obama has no role whatsoever, and no power to influence anything, even though he's still the leader of the free world.

Second, the three big gay rights priorities that Congress should be focusing on do not even include what have organically become the community's top two priorities: repealing DOMA and Don't Ask Don't Tell. They're not even mentioned in the Obama deputy's essay."

Apparently lesbians have superpowers when they become "passing men" and get beat up all the time by cops and men... they gain the power to flip cars throw dumpsters though building windows and incite the queens in to a frenzy of fists and bricks...

how quickly those "moral folk" forget we did it because we where tired of being raided and extorted for protection from the mob and the cops "morality squad" and haul off to jail for show. the cops even beat up a straight folk singer just trying to go home...

let me tell you about two officers accounts in the book stonewall by david carter, "they had never been more afraid in their lives" and they served side by side in world war two and survived the battle of the bulge. so remember be nice and let us get married. it is a civil rights issue.
