Amen. This site accusing anyone of the "C" word is the pot calling the kettle black.

Apples meet oranges. Does HufPo take over your ISP and deny access to sites? Do HufPo police come and question you about your internet visiting records?

For the American Corporate media to criticize any other country rings hollow. U.S media is a cartoon compared what is actually happening in this world. Ratings are decided by cute news bunnies and meaningless opinions by overly paid and regarded a-holes. Free speech is censored by the $ more than force but the result is even worse. A populace that think they know when they are actually among the most ignorant.

USA-Iranian Oil

European Union-Iranian Oil

Iran is critical to the entire world when it comes to the future of the global economy. Iran is the rope in the tug of war between the West and collective East/South. Iran is desperately seeking full admission into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which Washington detests.

And not only their governments who are censoring but now internet providers are creating
the "Green Wall". They are ready to alter web access to state censored sites in order to be allowed
by the Chinese government to be internet providers.

Google Green Wall.
It is Google, Microsoft, Apple, Dell, etc. who are involved.

And China is planning to censor the internet by requiring computer manufacturers to install netnanny hardward/software.

Don't be surprised if regressive "progressives" want to begin censoring the internet and the airwaves here.

This article is pure propaganda, free speech of the corporate main stream media.
When the US arrests 40 juournalists at the Republican convention for showing the chaos of police gassing and shooting rubber bullets at peaceful protesters, AND when this same media freely censures the round-up and abuse of our own free thinking journalists it becomes corporate censureship. The people of Venezuala and Cuba get the point about the Iranian situation, probably better than those sheep who baste in the half-truths presented in the Main stream American media!
Boycottt MSM.
Listen to real news organizations that tell the whole truth - Like democracynow.org!

For how screwed up our media is, I'll take it over the media of China, Burma, and Cuba any day.

This comparison just doesn't fly.

makes you wonder why our MSM does the very same thing, like for Iraq and the complete blackout of any news on the protests held, and the whitewash of the 200 stealing of the election as well. they protect the same kind of elements in our society as the Supreme Council in Iran. conservative violent ignorant cowards religo-crats

Censorship by the government, as is the case in Cuba, China, or Iran is hard work, as they have to keep up with the constant upgrades in communication technology. It's actually much easier to get by, as in the U.S., with managed, manipulated, distorted and selective news, and create the illusion of an "official truth" and marginalize those who do not subscribe to said truth as "radicals", "conspiracy theorists" or "wackos".
The government doesn't have to lift a finger, since it knows that the likes of CNN, CBS, MSNBC, FOX, et al, will do nothing to undermine the twin pillars of ultimate power in the U.S.-corporatism and militarism, upon which their exalted position in the hierarchy of things is based. Operation Mockingbird is running as smooth as ever.

That must be the same China that cracked down on pro-democracy protesters in 1989.

To which we responded by moving our entire manufacturing base there.

Darn Bolshevicks!

I must be back in the 1950s!

Is Joe McCarthy around here somewhere?

What a crock! Part truth part BS.

It would be just as true to associate the US with Fascist Germany and Italy and Falangist Spain.

I love how they add Venezuela to the list of countries with censorship, but then when they finally get to the discussion of Venezuela, they give no evidence of any censorship, because of course there hasn't been any.

What NEWS????

A bunch of propaganda is not "news."

Why is the western media repeating propaganda as facts?

Hard to tell which is more despicable, gov't censorship or gov't propaganda.

The Iranians are being instigated & financed by the US & "friends." They are not rioting in support of "freedom" or "democracy," they are rioting because they are being paid to do so, or are being incited by people being paid to do so.

This is Operatation AJAX, redux. The wealthy elite in Iran also supported the Shah of Iran because he was "friendly" to "US interests" (western oil companies). The last thing they want is "freedom" or "democracy." Except for the wealthy elite, which is oligarchy, not democracy. And, the same system we have in the US, as do most other nations.

If the US is so concerned about "freedom & democracy", how about starting in Saudi Arabia, Egypt & Jordan (our "allies")? None of which have free elections, Jordan & KSA have NO elections at all. And, they aren't allowed to "protest", peacefully or otherwise.

American hypocrisy is unlimited.

Really? You could try harder ya know. This whole diatribe is crap, full of nothing remarks and almost zero actual facts.

Really, paying hundreds of thousands of people to riot and rally? Do you even know how absurd that sounds? You can ignore reality all you want, but the wonder of video and picture have enabled us to see through the lies and deception. It's similar to people denying the Holocaust...HI, THERE IS VIDEO.

It is wonderful to make useless comparisons and points about countries that DIDN'T just have a contested election in which the people went to the streets in protest. But I see your point...I do really...you're point is that you have no point and are what, pro-Israel? So having a "we-don't-hate-america-nearly-as-much" Iran stands against everything you are about, doesn't it?

You should read the book, "Inside the Company: CIA Diary" written by a former CIA case officer, Philip Agee..

It explains how to get "100's of thousands" (?) of people to protest without paying them to do so.

In 2006, the US Congress passed the "Iran Freedom Support Act." It allocates $10 million to pay people for attempting to overthrow Iran's government.

The CIA has the ability of producing any kind of video you want. Videos are a propagandist's best friend.

My opinion is based on facts.

Yours is based on propaganda from the western media.

The US & "friends" are inciting & financing the "protests" in Iran.

Shills for IRI are getting desperate and reckless. Sure, the CIA remotely controls 100,000's risking death and Evin prison when US doesn't even have an embassy. I'm sure the ubiquitous branches of IRI police would just look the other way at that stunt. This is the logic of Holocaust denial, like your bud Ahmadinejad employs.
