I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Craig Ferguson began his show last night with his entire studio audience on stage, supposedly to prove to his critics that he actually has one and does not line his show with canned laughter. After a few jokes he asked his guests to take their seats which took longer than expected and gave Craig more fodder to mock them.

i think he's funny, but did you notice the sound of the laughter when only a few were laughing. It was like a three times the size of his audience

Wow, he sure has a big family. I'm sure some of those were close friends, too, though.

And what a delight arse it is, Mr. Cheeky Monkey! I've had the good fortune to have been in the audience a couple of times and admit freely to taking a peek or two at Craig's fanny...when given the opportunity. ;)

I'm not quite sure why there always seems to be chatter about whether Craig has a live audience or not. Maybe it's just because they don't show the audience as much as they do for Letterman? The microphones are located amidst the audience seats; not sure the set up for other shows.

I do highly recommend getting tickets to see Craig (free, free, FREE! ;)) if you're going to be in the LA area, because he's as hilarious off-screen, between taping, as he is on-screen.

Heh, I wouldn't tell Craig you've taken a peek at his fanny. Very different meaning for a Scotsman.

The odd thing was- the laughter still seems "canned." The laughter sounded perfect on TV - exactly the same sound and levels that it does when they are stting in the seats. And there is no way they have the front of the stage mic'd for an audience like they have the audience seats mic'd. So great show- love the openings but there was some sound sweetening going on there.

It is a much smaller studio than the other late nights, the audience is much smaller and they are seated closer. Would probably mean it is easier to control the sound of the audience.

It was pretty funny. He then stated they were so lucky 'cause they got a chance to check out his a$$. The audience had a lot of fun.

Uh, yeah, see, they have this thing called a video on the page. Not only does it play motion pictures, but it plays sound, too!
