Michael Jackson's Death Sparks Bus Brawl

MIAMI (Reuters) - A fight broke out on a Florida bus when news of Michael Jackson's death sparked debate over whether he should be remembered as a great musical talent, and one passenger was charged with assault, police said on Friday.

The bus was moving through the city of North Lauderdale on Thursday when passenger James Kiernan received a text message about Jackson's death on his cell phone, and he read it aloud on the bus, the Broward County Sheriff's Department said.

I am so ready to leave this region, I just need my husband to be ready too. They are all nuts down here. I sent my younger son on an errand, it took him into Miami proper, I worried until I knew he was at the destination and I worried when he was driving home, in rush hour. He had the ride of his life, but he will do it again on Monday.

He is helping his uncle with his business some, and has no summer job at this time, so he may as well.

But going from south of the city to the Design District is not for the faint of heart.

Brawls on the bus are not new, but fighting over Jackson is.

It's a shame when anybody dies in such circumstances, but if this guy was a standard for American greatness, the good old U.S.A. is past rigor mortis. Things have gotten so totally putrid in the arts and entertainment that American pop "culture" (culture as in a petri dish)- now makes the Weimar Republic look like the Florentine Renaissance, or Periclean Athens.

By all accounts MJ was a good talent, but in the same breathe, MJ also by all accounts preyed on innocent children. Even though he was never convicted but by paying out millions of dollars in hush money he fueled the fire. The truth will eventually come out, one of those payed could come out of hiding and give more light on this chapter in MJ's life.

I think a bad move on Michael's part was the fact the he simply paid EVERYONE off. It had gotten to the point that it seems everyone who has ever come within a few feet of him were suing him. Twist your ankle at a MJ concert- sue him! Thats a quick million bucks.

By ALL accounts MJ preyed on innocent children? Not by the jury's account when they acquitted him. Think about this: Michael came into contact with thousands of children through the years. Only two came forward with accusations. The first child's family backed off when Michael paid them in order to avoid a media circus. In other words, they were willing to allow their child to be molested by a multimillionaire as long as they were given money. What does that say about the validity of their charges? Were they really willing to pimp out their child for money?

The second charge resulted in a trial which ended in Michael's acquittal. Several witnesses, including Jay Leno who has been less than charitable toward Michael, stated that they felt the child had come across as coached.

Celebrities are looked upon by opportunists as a cash machine, and Michael was an easy target for this type of accusation. But I think it says a lot about him that there weren't more false accusations--most people he met respected and cared about him.

Why, they do not have a right to their opinions? Just because someone does not agree with you, does not make them wrong. Why do people get so hung up on death, should be hung up on living a fruitful life. Death is not something unusual, we all will do the same.
