Palin To Kerry: "Why The Long Face?" (VIDEO)

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took a shot at John Kerry when speaking to troops in Kosovo.

The Massachusetts Democrat had joked that he wished Palin had gone missing instead of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford.

"He looked quite frustrated and he looked so sad," Palin responded. "I just wanted to reach out to the TV and say, 'John Kerry, why the long face?'"

There are so many factions within the GOP now and each one refuses to compromise in any way. They are a collective failure and are diconnected from a cohesive party base. Then, of course, you have Jabba, Limbaugh serving and spewing hate over the airwaves and bestowing his blessing and forgiveness to contrite Repubs. Then there's always Cheney still slithering around.

The GOP is now a distant memory.

Why did Palin go have to go to Kosovo to talk about the facial features of an American war veteran?

It is ironic, Palin gets to enjoy her freedom to speak to American troops on foreign soil not only at the cost of Alaskan and the lower 48 taxpayers expenses, but because of what American vets like Kerry did!

Deep within Palin's Christian heart, Palin found it necessary to belittle the facial features of one our American vets. If you have to, wait till you go home to Alaska before you spew out your venom. This is not what a POTUS does, especially in front of American troops. It would be better served if you just danced, sung a song or played your flute.

Palin go on Meet The Press, Hardball or your daughter's Abstinence Tour and discuss politics . Don't take up our soldiers time for your self serving political ambitions.

The AK Army Nat’l Guard aviation AND infantry troops have a great many former military men and women who joined the Guard once their enlistment ended in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, etc. My husband is a former Marine (4 years active duty, 2 years Marine Reserves), served 24 years in the AK Nat’l Guard; and was deployed to Kosovo and Iraq before retiring.

John Kerry is a decorated war veteran. It was in very poor taste to diss a not only a sitting U.S. Senator, but a decorated war veteran to boot–AND ON FOREIGN SOIL! As Governor, she should know that many of these soldiers are former active duty military. She ultimately was showing disrespect to the very men and women she addressed in Kosovo. She should have held her tongue; but you know her–she never misses an opportunity to put her foot in her mouth once it’s open.

What’s even more disgusting; she wants to be POTUS and Commander in Chief of the armed forces; yet she’ll take a cheap shot at a veteran. She’s an embarrassment to Alaska and to the Nation.

I think a full blown investigation is warranted in light of her comments. Also, is this some sort of Republican (lets keep our troops voting for the wealthy war monger class) funded trip?

The GOP is losing the battle with the troops that vote (very few of them) because of the way they are treated upon return from war. The VA is a really dysfunctional organization designed to keep the shell shocked soldiers and disabled vets medicated and out of the public eye. Now, the question is if the Democrats are any better!!!

I agree with you, Palin is a wingnut. But, I differ with you on your VA remark. I am a 100% disabled Vet who constantly uses my local VA hospital and other services. While not neurotically perfect, my hospital is far superior to the others in my area. In that regard, let me point out the VA often farms out medical and dental services for me and other Vets at local hospitals and clinics -- including nearby military facilities. And, the VA has taken excellent care of me since my eligibility was confirmed. My VA hospital and related social service agencies are doing everything they can for the new Vets returning from our two current armed conflicts. The VA health care system is just like other ones in your area, i.e., some MDs and nurses are fantastic, others are average, or lacking in some skills. My particular clinic has excellent nurses and physicians. Our pharmacy is absolutely superb. And, our facilities are not "dysfunctional" and our VA professionals are not doing anything to keep "disabled veterans medicated and out of the public eye."

I find your remarks insulting and uninformed. Perhaps you can make it up to our Vets with visits with our old and lonely men and women in VA and civilian nursing homes in your area. They'll be happy to see you and talk with you, even though you are a touch misinformed.

Your VA experience hardly describes the national "norm", which has recently been reported at more than 1 million case backlog within the VA across the military medical services. The reason, Bush cut VA services within months after launching TWO wars. Yes, he was truly dedicated to the men and women in uniform.
