Palin To Kerry: "Why The Long Face?" (VIDEO)

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took a shot at John Kerry when speaking to troops in Kosovo.

The Massachusetts Democrat had joked that he wished Palin had gone missing instead of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford.

"He looked quite frustrated and he looked so sad," Palin responded. "I just wanted to reach out to the TV and say, 'John Kerry, why the long face?'"

Actually Sarah and her husband were said to be members of of AIP (Alaskan Independence Party) by Lynette Clark, the chairman of AIP in 1994. Basically to belong to a states rights group actively involved in leaving the union is treason except maybe in the state of Texas. Amazingly after the McCain people responded to the allegations of her being a member Clark rescinded her assertion that Gov. Palin had been a member.

You're right, I never did and if you did I respect your physical courage and dedication to country. I admired Kerry's service and was disgusted by the attacks against his patriotism. I had hoped he would have mounted a fiercer and faster response to the slander. I had always wished, similarly, that George McGovern had made his heroic serivce in WWII a center piece of his campaign, but he was too much the officer and gentleman to do so ( I read recently that he regrets that decision). Kerry did make his service a centerpiece of the campaign but still couldn't find a way to ferociously defend it.

(By the way, McCain's service didn't protect him from course attacks last season)

Nevertheless, I still think Kerry ran a bad campaign and he continues to put his foot in his mouth. If Palin calls him on it, so be it.
