Palin To Kerry: "Why The Long Face?" (VIDEO)

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took a shot at John Kerry when speaking to troops in Kosovo.

The Massachusetts Democrat had joked that he wished Palin had gone missing instead of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford.

"He looked quite frustrated and he looked so sad," Palin responded. "I just wanted to reach out to the TV and say, 'John Kerry, why the long face?'"

The joke was actually the best part of her speech. Sure it was a little juvenile but it drew laughs. The rest of her speech was the typically rambling cliches that we've come to expect from her.

What Kerry said was an awful strange and dumb thing for any politician to say about another. Sarah Palin could have actually garnered some positive points if she would have just ignored it & said nothing. But nope.

She can never take the high road. She can never be the better person and just let a slight or an insult pass without comment. She always sinks right down to the level of her detractors.

Whatever it is, the tribulations of Ms. Sarah and Michael Jackson make it clear that some people are driven to madness by fame. I can't help but wonder, as Sarah ages and her face becomes more of a slide area, if she won't be the plastic surgery test dummy of the 2010s. She has the vanity, ego and lack of foresight for it... All that seems to be missing right now is MJ's serious streak of self-loathing. And being turned out of office as governor - as now seems likely - might just do that.
