One of the big things I abhor is that Gov Sanford who touted being such a family man did not spend Father's Day with his sons, but went to Argentina to be with his lover. How sick is that???
I didn't think anyone could be more disgusting than Norm Coleman - I was wrong, Governor Sanford. Forget the fact that you had an affair; that's commonplace these days amongst politicians and men of faith. It's the fact that you abandoned South Carolina for 5 days and NO ONE, not your aides, colleagues or family, could reach you. That was dangerously irresponsible for a Governor. Plus, you took public funds to fly down to Argentina to see your mistress: that's theft. And you refused stimulus money because it was against your politics. Let's see: you lied, stole and abandoned your state. Time to go. As far as Coleman is concerned, have we seated Senator Franken yet? Is it too much for me to hope that the GOP will be completely voted out of office in 2010? We've got real problems to deal with and these neocon bozos are a waste of time.

If you have no respect or empathy for your own family - how can you have any respect or empathy for the people of South Carolina. He rejects the Obama stimulus for good 'ol conservative fiscal responsibility reasons, yet suggests and holds a conference in Argentina at the South Carolina tax payer's expense.

Let him stay...the man is an embarrassment to himself, his family, and his party. Let him stay and let America and South Carolinians see why we don't vote for these creeps in the first place. Let him be the beacon of corruption and concupiscence that the Republicans are becoming renowned for.
I live in SC and I would prefer not to let him stay as Governor. He's an embarrassment. The only other place I can think of that I would be more embarrassed to be from would be the 6th Congressional District in Minnesota.

I think Sanford should resign because he abdicated his responsibilty as governor, left the state without putting anyone in charge and fabricated trips to see his mistress on the state payroll. That IS our business.

Moreover, why was he trying to negotiate a trade deal for South Carolina even though the US has officially stopped all trade missions to Argentina since 2001, after Argentina refused to pay back its international debts?
Sanford's "supposed" mission, clearly went against US policy.
