Terry Lee

CQ Politics :

The invective that CQ reporter Richard Rubin overheard at 1st and C streets Southeast from Republican Rep. Lee Terry this morning is hardly the kind of language you'd expect to hear in Omaha on a Sunday morning.

But Terry was crossing a Washington street during a workweek when a local driver called him out for jaywalking.

"Can't you read the sign?" the driver shouted.

"[Expletive] you!" Terry retorted.

"Really?" the driver asked.

"Really," Terry confirmed.

Pugs are a smug, self-entitled lot. They think they can do anything with impunity. Rules are for others.

I think Terry was cruising and just needs to work on his pick-up line.

Looks like we need some Kindergarten teachers to go to Washington and teach these kids some lessons in manners. Do we have adults in DC or just a bunch of out of control five year olds?

That's another "family values" Republican for you.

Charming. Hope he's not running on a "family values" platform.

Well, you must remember, there are laws on the books for these offenses. I am sorry to say there are laws for us and there are no laws for Mr. Terry. There are rules for some and no rules for them. In Mr. Terry and other’s eyes, laws do not apply to the anointed.

jaywalking is a fact of life in DC, as is careless driving. 1st and C SE is right next to where public driving is cut off around the Congressional offices. This is a ridiculous non-story even from the perspective of someone who can't stand GOP congressmen.

A surprised Jackson asked whether Terry had cursed at him, and countered with a couple of F-words and an invitation to step outside.

At which point Rep. Lee Terry agreed to step outside with Jackson just as soon as he could find a eighteen year old to go fight for him.

The driver who turned right on red with a pedestrian in the crosswalk nearly causing a fatality was probably an arrogant Democrat.

lame

I'll bet not a single Democratic Congressperson used the "f" word yet today. It just doesn't happen. If it did, the Huff Post would surely report on it, right?

OK, I think HufPost is really scraping the barrel to discredit every member of the GOP.

This is not a story folks, lets get back to Mark Sanford and force him to resign.

He got mad because he thought the driver was making fun of him. We need to have more respect for those who cannot read.

Haven't we all been "here"?

Can't we restrain our critique to substance and
at least pointed hypocrisy?

I mean Rham's mouth is the stuff of late night
jokes, and this is huff news?

Cheers,
