Dianne Feinstein: Criticism From Left On Health Care "Doesn't Move Me One Whit"

Senator Dianne Feinstein has already taken a hammering from Dems and health care reform advocates for casting doubts on the prospects of President Obama's health care reform efforts. MoveOn, for instance, aired an ad against her in California, demanding she show some leadership and fight harder to get the president's reform plan passed.

Now Feinstein has hit back at the criticism from the left in an article about lefty groups targeting Dems for waffling on key components of health care reform:

"I do not think this is helpful. It doesn't move me one whit," she said. "They are spending a lot of money on something that is not productive."

It's time for this h_a*g to go! She is out of touch with progress in this country and missed the Change Express big-time! I am not a constiuent of hers, but I can surely give a "whit" to whoever opposes her in her next bid for office......

How pure the arrogance that she doesn’t give a whit for how 75% of her constituency want her to vote.
Americans overwhelmingly support the "public option" in health care. We know it's good for business, the economy and, most importantly, our Families. Nearly all civilized governments around the world, from England to Cuba, Germany to France have discovered this truth. We the people of America, understand it too. We are as fearful of "socialist healthcare", as we are of “socialist firefighters” or our “socialist” military. We know that we are being killed by corporate “for profit” medicine.
In this last election, Americans voted for change, now we demand it! Those who oppose the will of the American people are increasingly finding themselves marginalized, trivialized and, voted out of office.
If Diane Feinstein, or any other Blue Dog Democrat Senator for that matter, prefers to exchange the health of her constitutes, and the competitiveness of American Industry for insurance lobby contributions. She can take her 30 pieces of silver and go and she can take her gubernatorial aspirations with her.
She will learn, what the entire republican party are coming to learn. Ignore the united voices of the American People at your peril.

1 - Disclose to the public the dollars she receives from health insurance lobbyists

2- Give up her own publicly funded free healthcare

She doesn't care what "the lefty's" think and isn't moved one whit by that segment of the electorate's opinions. It would seem the people don't care either or her constituency is not made up of "lefty's" since she keeps getting reelected. You can't really blame Feinstein, she does as she pleases because she can. The people of her State put her in that job and have done so repeatedly. When her constituency is no longer happy with her, Dianne will go. What anyone outside of Cali thinks doesn't count, unless they can offer big bucks in campaign contributions or big blocks of votes. That's how the system works. Even a less than mediocre Senator, once in office, has a job for life if they want it.

Jeez, what has happened to DiFi? I swear I am of 2 minds..move back to California to vote her out of office or just be glad I don't live there with her as my Senator. The problem is that, even though she is not my Senator, she is far too "incorporated" in too many influential committees affecting EVERYONE from EVERY state, not just California. The final straws for me were her co-sponsorship on the extension of the Patriot Act and her vote on FISA (not that her Chairmanship of SSCI and her husband's military contracts in Iraq or his biz dealings in China and her trade votes isn't scandalous and a conflict of interest, IMO).

Please, California..elect her Governor and get her out of the federal government. Alas, California is probably too much of a deficit for her now to give up the power-broking in DC. So sad, I really admired and voted for her at one time..way back when she was a principled politician, representing the people and not her own self-interests. I mean she basically just told people to go frak themselves!!

Thanks for reminding us that our representatives don't seem to be representing us very well. We must do something about that. It seems that an election just isn't enough. We need to bring more power back to the people. We may need to make changes to the constitution or something so that no one senator represents so many people that they can't really do them justice while other states have fewer people and their senators can serve them better? A bigger staff just doesn't seem to cut it.

Our reps should have to meet with us at 'least' once a year but the numbers have to be more realistic for that to be possible.

I could go for some term limits. 2 terms in the senate would be 12 years, I think that's enough. It could be longer for the house.
