Does anybody remember Apple? They had no software, no hardware, no followers, but rabid graphics artists who were practically died in the wool cultists? Remember how they were about to file for bankruptcy in the middle of the Microsoft anti-trust suit? MS does a big "uh-oh, our best defense against monopoly is going out of business?" MS propped up their competitor by billions, Jobs comes out of (board forced) retirement, and where is Apple trading now?

From brink of collapse and stock trading under $10 to dominating the music format, phone platform, doing quite respectably in computer hardware now, and stock is up 150-200% in last couple of years. I attribute that to the dynamism of Jobs mostly. But that's not to say GM is completely out.
