Someone dust off the Mission Accomplished banner...
Yep. All done. End of operations. Finished. Complete baby. Got 'er done! AAR time. Block leave for everybody! Notify every town in America to plan parades. We're outta there! It's finally over. The slovenly lady has sung. Strikeup the band! Auld Lang Syne.
We'll just hang out a little ways North on the MSR for old time's sake
Funniest headline ever!
This from 6/25/2009 NYT just as I expected:
Indeed, after months of lobbying by Mr. Maliki and other government officials, most of the world’s big oil companies, including ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch Shell, British Petroleum and Chevron, are expected to submit bids. The companies were expelled from Iraq in 1972, after Mr. Hussein nationalized the oil industry.
“My guess is that every international oil company in the world, knowing Iraq is blessed with terrific God-given natural resources, is interested in Iraq,” Daniel Nelson, a former ExxonMobil vice president, said recently. “I’m not giving any competitive secrets away here.”
There you have it folks: The reason for the war, the occupation, the embassy. So much for going green.
What about those oil contracts. Who has those any way? Any US oil companies? That would seem like perfect timing. Pulling out after contracts are secured. Where are the troops pulling back to, closer to the oil wells?
Where's the numbers, how many troops have been removed?
This is a smokescreen to take the pressure off of the profit takers. Either we are there or we aren't there. To leave the cities and go to another part of the country is not leaving.
Well, except all the troops still occupying iraq and that billion dollar U.S. embassy sitting in the middle of iraq.....
yeah, withdrawal almost done my a$$!
Um.. Yeah.. last time I checked we still have buttloads of bases and a multi billion dollar "embassy" and around 250k contractors still in Iraq.. We aren't leaving so stop acting like we are.
ha! just read your comment after posting... hmmm, do these criminals think we are 3 year olds?
