RichMisty, I want to see if I'm clear on your thought process.

It's OK to post a li
e about what I said if it proves your point?

Do I have this right?
You did flat out li
e about what I posted so I can't read it any other way.

I pointed a perception, taken from a viewpoint that is not my own.

You and I actually agree, and I have told you so. Now our perceptions are different. I looked at your post from a Republican's viewpoint. That is not the same viewpoint you and I share.

If you took offense, I am not too small to apologize. If you can't accept that, and you want to fla.me it out... We can go there. But as I said, we are both adults and I don't see the need.

Your turn.

You twist and turn and twist and turn. In the end you posted that I said it was Clinton's fault
I posted nothing of the sort.
You are a li
ar. You can try and twist it all you want but you are patently dishon est.

You lack credibility by doing this and you are no different than the far right
luna tics that post here. They do the exact same thing.

As I posted earlier, I detest dishonesty from anyone.

So you don't want to accept an apology, and you do want to flame it out.

Correct?

Honesty by whose defination? Yours and mine, or the Republicans?

There are two completely different moral systems at play. I play against one, and for the other. I don't leave openings for shots for Republicans. I don't give them any quarter, I don't give them any chances, I don't give them any grace.

You do. I replied to your post, directed _AT YOU_ because what I posted to you, is exactly what the Republicans read in YOUR post.

You people need to keep up:

Reuters ~ "General Electric could benefit later this year from a planned U.S. stimulus package, but more realistically will feel the effects from it in 2010, its chief financial officer said on Friday" - Jan 23, 2009

About 3 weeks before the stimulus package was passed by Democrats in congress and signed by Obama.

Yet another massive American corporation that would be bankrupt if it weren't for a government handout?

Why did the media never cover GE's financial problems? Why was GE never included in the list of companies in distress -- along with GM, Chrysler, AIG, Citi, etc?

How did the media miss this? Because GE is not either a car company or a bank, so it wasn't "news"?

What does this say about the way big corporations are run in America today -- that it's not only big banks and investment firms, it's not only automakers, but also an old-line consumer electronics giant like GE?

Doesn't this say there is something flawed about the American corporate model? About the way we run capitalism in America?

How is it that AIG's financial section in London was discussed and GE Money, the financial section of GE was not?

GE got to participate because its financing arm---GE Capital---owns two small S&Ls.

Since the Office of Trhift Supervision is to be folded into another agency, the loophole will close.

GE isn't having major financial problems.
It saw an opportunity to legally take part in a program design by Bush/Paulson and did so.
This saved GE a ton of money in terms of financing its debt.

GE is a diversified company and is highly profitable.

Classic example of why big business lobbies so diligently for less government. These guys are living proof that big business is run by sociopaths. They will exploit any loophole to take what they do not earn or deserve. Their primary objective is not to produce a quality product any longer, but rather to increase the bottom line at the expense of us all. Like the private health 'insurers,' they are monsters engaged in a feeding frenzy designed to deplete the resources of those opposing them. We all talk about their arrogance, the arrogance born of a belief that they will not be challenged for their atrocities because they see their actions as commendable--just like a sociopath.

What, there's a loophole in the TARP? Say it isn't so!

Cmon, was there ever any real reform contemplated in banking?
Instead of fundamental changes, the administration has created a debate over regulations: basically saying that we are going to let the same players play the same game, only now we'll "debate" if we should watch them closer.
We are always going to be one step behind those we are trying to "reform" if we continue to
ignore the root cause of the crisis;
A smoke and mirrors approach to economics whose main cheerleaders happen to be our very own Secretary of the Treasury and Chairmen of the Fed.
Obama can make all the speeches he wants, fill the air with righteous indignation and point fingers at the greedy and corrupt, at the end of the day without effective action, the same players are going to keep playing the same game.

Please remember that the TARP was established in Sept. 2008. Loopholds where established at that time and now is another thing to be cleaned up.

Democrates just must not be able to read, because they just keep passing bills with no clue as to what is in them and then bitching about it. Then slap some republican around because he is reading the bill to them on the floor. And the president just wants to sign it, he won't read it either.

False on every level.

The loophole GE has taken advantage of was created by and promoted by the Bush administration before Obama was even elected.

There is a moral in this story. Never, ever cooperate with Republicans. If you cannot put them behind bars, vote them out of office.

I prefer both....vote them out of office first, make them use all their assets for lawyers, and then after losing their case....put them behind bars, that way they have no funds to appeal the case.
