Climate Change: Hoax of the Century
Carbon dioxide, a benign, life giving molecule has been miscast by a world wide political movement to be an environmental hazard in what will soon be discovered to be the hoax of the century. This molecule, CO2 is vital to all life on earth. It is exhaled by all living things and even comes from nocturnal emissions by plants. It forms the bubbles in your soda, wine and beer. Standard air has 370 parts per million (PPM) of carbon dioxide of which 93% comes from "natural sources" which are all beyond human control. These sources include decomposition of organic matter, exhaling by living things and volcanic vents, which is by far the greatest atmospheric source.
When the full scope of the scientific errors involved in this hoax are exposed everyone will realize this has been the greatest folly since the flat earth theory. We deserve a real debate. In this case, the truth will be very inconvenient.
Then you should buy some Louisanna beach front. If it's a hoax, should be a good investment.
Delta land is not being replaced because of dams and flood control upriver on the Mississippi River. Or, did you not read the article, and decide that the reason was AGW?
Animals exhale CO2 because it is one of our waste products that absolutely must be removed from our immediate environment or it will kill us in sufficient concentrations. We've almost lost astronauts in space because they ran out of cartridges for the only CO2 scrubber keeping them alive.
There's a balance between the geological, biological, and industrial production of CO2 and the fixation of CO2 by plants, algae, and certain bacteria. If CO2 produced exceeds CO2 consumed, the planet eventually becomes a less habitable place for all animal life.
Earth is the only planet we know of with a significant atmospheric concentration of oxygen, and it's almost entirely because of photosynthetic organisms. Living things made the atmosphere in which thinking man evolved, and petroleum man is transforming it once again.
No sane scientists expects our tiny addition of Co2 to build up to toxic levels!?
Even the IPCC isn't trying that one.
The scare is that Co2 will trigger runaway global warming.
Of course, scientists agree Co2 can't directly have any significant effect itself-
The theory depends 100% on computer simulated positive feedback loops that give vast ranges of outcomes that can be picked through to suit your political ideology.
The fact remains Co2 itself is not a major driver of climate by any stretch. Just a major source of tax revenue.
Look up the Ordovician Ice age if you don't believe this, Co2 levels? 4000 ppm!

That's it, anything else you hear is a story, same applies to 'runaway warming' ,'acidic oceans', 'extreme weather' etc etc - if you even just scratch the surface of the actual science,
all these things are exposed as fairy-tales. Their purpose is to take advantage of the scientifically illiterate to facilitate a particular political ideology, and it's working to some extent.
I am not saying there aren't any other contributing factors such as global warming, dams and/or things being built on loose soil. However, the majority of the damage is done by the oil companies and the ACOE. Its strange the author of the report is a scientist from Exxon. The timing of this report is intriguing too, if you read about the recent legislation.

Scientists have known for years that New Orleans and the surrounding area has been sinking due to the fact that the city was built on loose soil that compacts over time.
The water is not rising, the city is sinking.

Dear SteveMI, my point is that properties of water despite that water vapor is GHG actually cool the air.
We have possibilities to increase amount of water vapor and water droplets in atmosphere ( perhaps growing trees) and it is cheaper than decrease amount of GHG.
2100 duly noted...

Last week NOAA released “Global Climate Change Impacts in the United States”. Global warming “skeptics”—GO HOME! NOAA’s Jane Lubchenco told ABC: “We have greater confidence now than ever before. This report is a game-changer."
With respect to Florida (and other low-lying cities) and sea-level change, there’s MUCH to worry about: “Relative sea-level rise in parts of the Gulf Coast region… is projected to be as high as 2 to 4 feet by 2050 to 2100…”
Since this report represents our BEST science, yet:
• WHY has President Obama requested almost $280,000,000 to restore the Everglades system that he KNOWS will be underwater in his lifetime!
• WHY is the The Army Corps is EVEN MORE IRRESPONSIBLE!! A Col. Lee (District Engineer) (posted at NOLA.com), the Corps is going to spend almost $2.5 BILLION “in the New Orleans region”.
So…we are rushing to SPEND BILLIONS to restore areas that WILL BE UNDERWATER!! This is the height of fiscal IRRESPONSIBILITY!!!
Unless, of course, they know that the rise in sea level is bogus.

What are you talking about? The melting ice that will cause sea level rise is currently land bound. If you read the article you will find that a large part of the problem is reduced sediment transport, the destruction of offshore barrier islands and other ecological and geomorphological factors.
Not just a 'large' part of the problem. The Largest part of the problem. The Mississippi River Delta around New Orleans has been subsiding for two reasons: Normal sediment compaction in a river delta, and the pumping of well water from the surrounding terrain. IIRC, the rate of subsidence has been about 1 inch per year for the last 300 years.
The IPCC 4AR predicts sea levels will rise 18-59 cm by 2100. This is about 6 - 18". The 100 inches of subsidence we might reasonably expect to see over the same interval dwarfs this.
--> There could be ** ZERO ** global warming and the delta will still sink.
and it's going to rise faster than the tide!

Thaty's how they work. Any global warming paper, no matter how conditional, warrants screaming headlines depicting the findings as absolute truth.
We've had so much crap thrown at us the last few years, it's no wonder the stench is so overwhelming.
Thaty's? You do know that there is a spell checker here? I have read a lot of scientific papers over the years. None of them had an overwhelming stench. All science is "conditional" until better data and theories come along.
