My favorite thing was the Burlwood chest in that bedroom. Really nice!

People now are getting paid the SAME WAGES as they did in 2000. But are prices at 2000
levels? H3LL NO. So they go into debt, adding more layers tothe USA debt ponzi scheme.

I have not one human feeling for the people with the name Madoff. Everything they own is from destroying other families.

The judge should add another 10 years for obscenity.

Why do people with lots of money have digs that don't look like you could be comfortable just hanging out there? Yeah, looks expensive, but that's about all I can say for it. Boring, overdone, blah.

I'd live just as well, too, on other peoples' money. Hell, the sky's the limit.

amazing what you can buy on someone else's dime, and stolen at that. Most folks that are stealing from folks fence their goods - Bernie just invited his best friends and family in to ooh and aah over his collection of goods.

I wonder how much the apartment will sell for. And what's gonna happen to the furnishings? Auction?

Looks nice until you realize all the pain and agony of others that went into that room. To Madoff obviously rugs, paintings, vases, tables, etc. were more mportant than people. 150 years is not long enough if you ask me.

It can be argued that all excessive wealth was created through the pain and agony of others. I have no problem with "wealth," we just need to look at the means of creation as well, not just the dollar amount.

Most wealth comes from undervaluing the contribution of employees, and/or cheating the customer, or simply outright criminal activity.

Awww C'mon! How about hard work, brains, integrity and talent? I am very happy to say that most of my wealthy friends fall under this category. Don't start the 'blame the wealthy' game. Not all are crooks.

I had the first post on this thread, and now it's gone. What's up, HuffPo? Basically, I said I hope there are some in the SEC who get investigated and convicted for letting Madoff slide EIGHT TIMES. This will be known as part of the Bush legacy. And Ruth Madoff can turn off the alligator tears; she should have to spend the rest of her life in the poorhouse, not with $2.5M that we know about.
