This year marked the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, so NYC Pride weekend was even more ebullient than usual. While the crowds congregated for the annual Pride parade, their were numerous parties with more exclusive guest lists. In addition to the annual Pride parade, which winds itself through Manhattan and past the historic Stonewall Inn, some of the stars of the LGBT community held court over the weekend.

I wish we could separate the issue of gay rights
from the right to dress in drag.
They are not the same thing.
