Air New Zealand's 'Naked' Ad Campaign

In its latest ad campaign, Air New Zealand has given new meaning to the overused business cliche "transparency." The struggling Kiwi airliner has decided to emphasize that, unlike its competitors, it has nothing to hide. Well, literally...

In the below video, extremely fit Air New Zealand employees draw raised eyebrows from travelers as they appear in body paint made to look like uniforms.

Starting Monday, the New York Times reports, Air New Zealand passengers will begin seeing similar clips in their pre-flight safety videos.

It's hardly fair to call Air New Zealand struggling. Sure it had to be rescued by the NZ Govt. a couple of years back but the share price has recovered and it turns a profit now, which is more than most airlines can do at the moment.

Of course you can do a lot for the bottom line by doing away with uniforms!

I live in NZ and can tell you that the ad has been running on the main TV channels now for some time without triggering mass riots and swooning in the streets. In fact in my opinon the responses of most Kiwis in the situations portrayed in the ad would be exactly as shown. We're not an uptight people.

No kidding - high quality body paint looks fantastic - the shadows . . . It's takes a second or even third look to realize it's paint. In the NZ ads, the neck scarves that the women wear are the best.

They're a great airline, good service and I still recall the sheepskin seat covers . . . live long and prosper!
