Karen Mulder ARRESTED For Plastic Surgeon Attack

Karen Mulder was arrested in Paris on Tuesday for repeated verbal telephone assaults on her plastic surgeon.

According to the Daily Mail, Mulder, 39 (or 41 depending on the source), is believed to have freaked out when her surgeon refused to reverse an unnamed procedure the former Victoria's Secret model had had done.

A detective said: 'She was screaming and shouting about the operation and became extremely threatening.

'There were repeated calls to the female surgeon who was extremely scared. The suspect is being interviewed.'

Mulder was arrested at around 10am and is being kept in a cell in the eight arrondissement, the epi-centre of Paris haute couture.

Mulder, who was a top model in the early 90s, later suffered depression and anorexia and was hospitalized in 2002 following an overdose. Since her recovery, she gave birth to a daughter in 2006 and returned to the catwalk in 2007 for a Dior show. She has also modeled for Yves Saint-Laurent, Chanel, Valentino, and Versace in the past.

The two pix don't even appear to be the same person - what did the doc do? Why is her chin so square? Her eyes look larger, and her cheeks seem more chiseled/angular. Weird!

Lordie Lord, this woman was a super hot 10+ and went down to average.

Again the photos are of the model fully made up in a fashion show (the right sided photo with the red lipstick where she is around 10 years younger according to the dates) and then showed an older photo, so it is hard to tell what is going on actually.

I remember her! She WAS soooo beautiful. Now I could not pick her out of a line up. Maybe her accusser will have the same problem and the charges will be dropped.

As our friend BM would say: New Rule - all plastic surgeons must have a grad degree in "Art of the Human Form" before being allowed to create freaky looking women with large, misshapen fake breasts. And any doc who does, in fact, create a freakazoid should lose his license and be sued for malpractice.

"First, do no harm" also means "First, don't tell me surgery will make me beautiful before you turn me into Skelator's sister."

What a sad story. This is a beautiful woman, who like all of us, needs to feel loved. An adverse effect of plastic surgery, which doctors don't mention, is unhappiness.

How do you know she wasn't unhappy to begin with? Isn't that why she got the surgery in the first place? She should have gotten therapy instead.

see. that's horrible. she was a beautiful model in the 90's and because of the pressure to always look beautiful she went and had surgery done. what people don't realize is that you're taking a huge leap of faith on these doctors to "fix" your face. and sometimes they aren't so lucky. i mean it's your face, your identity!

is it all worth it for a couple of wrinkles? i say embrace it and i'm sure she would have looked more beautiful. but now we will never know.

Puh-lease. Vanity and vapidness (forgive the aliteration) are the only reason that people, not just women, get plastic surgery. One of the things that separates humans from animals is this little thing called free will. I'm pretty sure that she didn't have plastic surgery at gun point. And if she was so concerned about wrinkles and such being a model perhaps she should ask Dame Helen Mirren how she stays so beautiful and has a great career at 60+ despite not having plastic surgery. Or Angelica Huston. Or Mary Louise Parker. Or Kate Winslet. Etc. etc.etc. I think it's called talent. I'm sorry, but being pretty is easy, being beautiful takes work.

Good point, but if you read women being cruelly castigated on many threads here for not being physically perfect, you can see the pressure that exists for a beautiful woman like Mulder to do whatever it takes to keep up her looks. Women like Mirren and Huston were known more for their acting and not their beauty. And Winslet has already faced a great deal of scorn for not working harder to stay perfect. It's not simply about women being shallow, it has to do with societal pressure as well.

She looks awful with the plastic surgery. No wonder she freaked out, but unfairly so to her surgeon since she is ultimately responsible for making the decision to get the surgery in the first place.

Looks like everything was pulled upward. Eye lift and her nose seems lifted up on either side if you look at the slant of the nostrils.

She looked better in 1994 but beautiful. She looks like a different person now but still quite lovely I think although it looks a little artificial.

Sundance channel had a special on the huge trend of nose jobs for both Iranian men and women. They filmed busy streets, where you could see person after person with nose bandages. The people interviewed kept calling it fashionable. Sad, cause they looked like they all went to the same doctor for the same nose.
