Simon Cowell's 'Idol' Salary Could Be $144 Million A Year: Report

EARLY salary figures from Simon Cowell's "American Idol" contract negotiations are leaking out and they're eye-popping.

Cowell, who reportedly made $36 million last year for judging the hit competition show, has been offered three or four times that amount -- between $100 million and $144 million per year -- by co-producers Fox and 19 Entertainment to stick with "Idol" when his contract expires next May, according to The Guardian, a London newpaper.

Ya cause if you got offered that money, you'd be like sorry bro, but i'd rather take 1/4th of that cause i'm not that talented! NOT, and its peoples own fault for getting into this mess, no one told em to take loans they couldn't afford, and live in half a mil dollar houses while making 50k a year. He's worth it, imho. I love watching him. He's worth it to the show because they know darn well the ratings would drop like a rock if he left. As for what AI is worth to America? Entertainment? Apparently a lot of people enjoy it because it has been the highest rated program in the world almost since day 1 and will, no doubt, continue to be if the producers can keep Cowell on as a judge.
