VF: McCain Staffers Ascribed Palin's Problems To Post-Partum Depression

he crowds begin streaming into the Evansville Auditorium and Convention Centre a couple of hours before the arrival of the "special guest speaker" at the Vanderburgh County Right to Life dinner on a soft Indiana spring evening nearly 2,200 people in the banquet hall, 800 more in an adjacent auditorium watching the proceedings on a live video feed. The menu is thick slices of roast pork and red velvet cake, washed down with pitchers of iced tea, and when Sarah Palin finally enters, escorted by a phalanx of sheriff's deputies and local police, she is mobbed. The organizers of the dinner, billed as "the largest pro-life banquet in the world," have courted Palin for weeks with care packages of locally made chocolates, doughnuts, barbecue, and pastries, and she has requited by choosing Evansville, a conservative stronghold in southern Indiana, as the site of her first public speech outside Alaska in 2009.

Presidential Medal of Freedom, too. Fey was brilliant and the satire was close enough to the reality to disturb as well as amuse. Apparently, Fey was so in Palin's head that she came up with some of the jokey-lines only to have Palin say them straight faced. No wonder she didn't want to play her past the election. She was taking one for the home team there.

The Maya predicted that the world will end in 2012. I never took that warning seriously until I realized that if Obama screws things up (and he ain't doing a stellar job) Palin may become president. Holly cr@p! the Maya were right. The world will end in 2012!

I think President Obama is doing just fine for 6 months on the job. I'd like him to work faster but there are only 24 hours in a day. Where have you been?

It's not about faster. It's about policy. You plant the seed today but reap the reward tomorrow. Obama has abandoned the seeds. The bank bailout will haunt him and America for the next hundred years. Worse move even than what Bush did in his whole eight years. His backtracking on health, gay rights, environment and everything else is nauseating. He is not keeping his promises just like every other politician, and on top of that he has virtually no opposition. The Republican party is in shambles, and the right that did not vote fore him, hate him, so he can't win them over. He needs to be more stern, more aggressive, and push his policies more bullishly, but instead he is walking on eggshells. He has the best opportunity for change than any other president in modern history and he is wasting it.

Great article! Palin must be spinning in circles right now and McCain is probably kicking his own a$$ for ever picking her to be his running mate. To think she would ever be a VP of the USA is frightening beyond all imagination.
