I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Minnesota Senate

Yesterday, Al Franken, after a protracted Hundred Years War with Norm Coleman that played out in front of every legal body in the state of Minnesota, finally became Senator Al Franken, giving the Democrats a 60-vote caucus and a new set of challenges as to how they will manage to excuse disappointing their constituents going forward. You may ask yourself, "Huh, I wonder how all of Franken's opponents in the media are taking it?" Not very well, as it turns out!

You can watch for yourself, if you like, in this video mashup from Media Matters! Sean Hannity: he still BELIEVES, Y'ALL, that Coleman won! Glenn Beck says it's the equivalent of Glenn Beck being made Senator! Even that brown-haired dude from Fox And Friends, ol' what's his face, has a sad about it! Yes, Al Franken is the New New Reason Democracy Has Died, thus ending the reign of the Huffington Post's own Nico Pitney.

From where I perch, it's like a whole new set of Americans now are angry at the way a recount was decided, and are worried over their belief that Minnesota is represented by a crazy person. There's another group of Americans who know what that feels like, I think! So really, isn't Al Franken just bringing the whole country together, in empathy? Probably not!

So I don't know what the big deal is. Al Franken wins his Senate seat by what, 317 votes? All on the plus side. But there wasn't any problem with George Bush winning the Presidency by a minus 500,000 votes in 2000 and who knows what really happened in 2004? These guys really know how to flog a dead horse with a wet noodle.

Love the way these guys dump on the voters of Minnesota, essentially calling them "wrong" for taking part in the Presidential Elections. Limbaugh thinks so little of the Presidential process that he likens it to Iran. These are the cowardly conservatives who want to see the US in ruins just to prove their point. What ever that might be?

Major "AMEN!" There is something very wrong with our system when these HS grads (Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck etc.), who are nothing more than political prostitutes, are paid huge amounts of money to spew their ignorance over the airwaves.

The really sad part is how many people watch, and believe, their brainless commentaries.

Return to the Fairness Doctrine and they would all be gone.

The only reason these bigots get airtime is because it legitimizes the festering bigotry that some of my fellow Americans deny is within -- or at least fail to acknowlege. HanLimBeck's being on the air may be their constitutional right, but it's also a dangerous validation of far right wing extremists. Having personalities like these on the air creates a comfort zone and "legitimizes" their hatred. I wonder if the Holocaust Museum shooter was a HanLimBeck fan. The irony is how quick the right is to blame rap music for urban crimes, but are mysteriously mum when a highly visible (on the internet) white supremacist like Von Brunn kills a black man at the Holacaust Museum. Where was the outrage and righteous indignation, then? Oh yeah, that's their "base." Remember Al-Qaeda is Arabic for "the base." Coincidence? I think not.

as the wise comedian from New York once so elegantly stated: "it's SUPPOSED to taste like a sh*t taco!"

thank you, John Stewart, for those eternal words. I remember them every time a conservative whines about not being in power any more, which is to say, several dozen times a day.

Beck makes adorable statements about how terrible he would be as a senator, when it is obvious to me that he would love to be Senator Beck.

Really, except Al Franken has a degree from Harvard where as Glenn Beck took some "classes" as yale. So maybe franken really is qualified. But it can't be real because Sean Hannity doesn't feel it in his heart. Heart?

I almost fell off my chair when I listened to Hannity say "somethings not right with that guy". Was he serious? And something's alright with him?

Franken can out-think, outwrite and out speak any of them, and they know it.

Gee, Hannity, this is so unlike you!

Not.
