The question of whether Osama bin Laden has ever visited the United States, a subject on which I have expended an unhealthy amount of energy in the course of various journalistic and biographical research, has now seemingly been settled. Osama was here for two weeks in 1979, it seems, and he visited Indiana and Los Angeles, among other places.

He was here to raise money for Islamic rebels in Afghanistan who were beginning to fight the increasingly anti-Islamic Soviet-backed Afghan government. Also, he wanted to go on the "It's a Small World" ride at Disney.

Perhaps. But today one must really wonder if Osama is really living in a cave somewhere. It is far more likely that he have been hanging out in five star hotels, sans the facial hair enjoying spa treatments during dialysis.

Husband: Did you see that there woman with black all over her?
Wife: Don't stare and point. You are offending those people. They are obviously from the Middle East and just have different customs than we do.
Husband: So what? I don't care if I offend them. What could they possibly ever do to us, anyway?
so what? this is so irrelevant to anything. he's probably dead by now anyway. we should be looking in to who really caused the september tragedy.
