Sarkozy: Yes, I Made Mistakes

French president Nicolas Sarkozy has admitting he made mistakes in his first two years in office, in an interview with AFP.

"I made mistakes," Sarkozy said when asked whether there were missteps during the first two years of his presidency.

"Was everything that was said to criticise me unfair? No."

Sarkozy defended his position by saying that he faced "totally inhuman" demands as the French premier and time was necessary for growing into the role.

President Sarkozy was elected in May 2007 calling for economic reforms and his approval ratings have since suffered, along with the economy, according to AFP.
