Red states booming, blue states tanking.
Four of the top 10 are in blue states, genius. Are you always this good at math?
Being able to remember when Phoenix was a mellow, laid-back, relaxed little city in the middle of an incredibly uncrowded and beautiful state makes me feel really, really old.
Can we have names of the 10 slowest growing cities? Those would be the places I would want to check out for future residency. Unless of course they're red.
Baton Rouge, AL
Flint, MI
Portsmouth, VA
Jackson, MS
Cleveland, OH
Toledo, OH
Norfolk, VA
Dayton, OH
Hampton, VA
Newport News, VA
These figures are from exactly one year ago today.
Wait until the 2009 estimates come in. The market has collapses much further since these numbers.
Vegas will probably have dropped in population for the furst time ever.
Oh god, I'm begging you. Stop moving to NC. I grew up here, and everything about it is being destroyed. Green spaces paved over, WalMarts springing up, taxes goijng through the roof. Everything you like about this state is being destroyed the more you move here.
Oh, there's no stopping it now. I live in Raleigh, and us, Cary, and Durham are gradually fusing into one giant suburban metropolis. The racial diversity around here is ridiculous. And it's starting to get cramped.
But I think RTP makes up for any population annoyances. Plus, we have the Triangle AND the Triad. One more and we'll have the Triforce.
I hear that. ;)
Those GOPer must know how to make Jobs!
I live in Durham, NC about 20 min drive from Cary, NC. Each time I go there I can tell houses seem to be coming out of the ground fast and furious. Nice neighborhoods but some houses are so close to each other.
I'm in North Raleigh, right there on the edge of Durham. There used to be a huge forest a few miles up the road, and now it's an endless maze of townhouses and houses like mine, with no yard. Back in Greenville we had an acre; our plot was essentially a football field. Now, not so much.
Gilbert, AZ is one of the fastest growing cities? Yuck. Very Republican suburb of Phoenix. I live in Phoenix and I've had to go to Gilbert a few times. It's incredibly boring.
