I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Mark Levin

Right-wing talk radio firebrand Mark Levin was a guest on Sean Hannity's self-titled Fox News show and unleashed a diatribe against President Obama.

Responding to Hannity's question of why his book "Liberty and Tyranny" is doing so well, Levin lit into Obama, calling his policies "Bernie Madoff times a thousand;" Obama "is taking a wrecking ball to this;" and that Obama's ultimate goal is to "destroy the middle class."

Hannity cheers him on the whole way through (his favorite way of referring to Levin is as "The Great One"), although it's questionable if the Republican party wants Levin out there as the face of their ideology considering the man has a history of embarrassing himself and conservatism.

WATCH

Mark Levin to Hannity:

Because I think the American people are fundamentally liberty-loving people. And what's going on in this country is really anti-liberty. The President, you know, they just put Bernie Madoff away for life; the President's policies are Bernie Madoff times a thousand. He is taking a wrecking ball to this society. The American people love this country. They love its institutions; they revere the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. What the President is peddling is something utterly foreign. He's dragging us into what de Toqueville called a 'soft tyranny.' And really I don't know what the limits are on the power of the presidency anymore. They used to call Bush an imperial president, which was ridiculous, this is a real, live imperial president, who wants to dictate light bulbs to what medicines you get, to student loans and credit card interest rates. He doesn't have the constitutional authority to be doing all these things.

[...]

He lied. Matter of fact he's taken his page right out of Saul Alinsky's rules for radicals. Saul Alinsky essentially said, look, you gotta sound like you're for the middle class. You gotta sound like you're from the middle class. And then you destroy the middle class.

Why do so many comments not show up anymore? Many times I've written a well thought out comment which contains nothing offensive to anyone, only to have it never show up. Meanwhile, other posters are hurling insults and profanity left and right. What is the criteria for censorship at this place? It's not worth anyone's time to type a lengthy comment which never appears. I haven't yet figured out which trains of thought are so frightening to someone here at HP that they must be censored.

For me it seems to depend on which of the 2 PCs I use. My posts from home always seem to go through but my posts from work (this one may not make it) never seem to. I figured that it had something to do with my companies’ network security but I'm not an IT person so I don't really know. :P

Everyone knows Levin in nothing but an ambulance-chasing, sheister lawyer who files lawsuits left and right almost allof which have no legal merit.

Maybe I just don't get it, but what are these conservatives talking about when they refer to the
Constitution and President Obama is anti-liberty and his goal is to destroy the middle class.

Can the constitution really be adhered to in the 21 century as it was the day it was signed?
Our liberty and freedom seems to have been greater because we were a self sufficient
nation of 4M people. We didn't need to rely on each other, we supplied all of our own basic
necessities in colonial times. I can't imagine a nation of 300M living as we did in the 1800's,

Man, just imagine being one of the brain damaged people who watch this far right FUD lunacy for virtually all of their waking hours. This is the media equivalent of crystal meth.

Folks, this is somewhat about FOX and how they go about doing their "business". Quarter baked logic and propagated nonsense can be found anywhere. When they (FOX) revel in their ratings, they ignore the obvious. The reality is that people residing in different areas of the gene pool have different tastes for their information nutrition. A few actually like spoon fed ignorance. The billions of other people sort through the truth in different media.

In reality, their ratings stink, just like they do.

You have to remember something here;
To FOX NEWS the "Average American" is someone who makes over $500,000/year and votes straight-line conservative. Everyone else is just "staff".
It Explains everything about their programming.

You know when you put it that it way it does makes sense. I would actually drop that yearly income to over $250,000 per year. Those are the people Obama has asked to be taxed more (3%). They are the one losing their (silk) shirts and their (fourth) houses!

I agree with you both, but I'd also add terrified, gullible seniors who keep it locked on The Fake News Channel, convinced their far right FUD is true. Sad.

Yes President Obama is scheming the American people out of their hard earned money. Please, he was forced to dole out half of the TARP money, which was promoted, voted and signed into law under Bush. Obama was forced to spend money on the stimulus plan - one of his primary campaign promises that helped him win the election - that was stripped of much it's funds in order to gain GOP support - even though no Republican voted for it - making it less effective.

So please explain how President Obama is anywhere near Bernie Madoff?

Ok, I probably should clarify.

I don't blame Obama. I think he's too ignorant of how things work to fully accept blame.

(Obama isn't "forced" to do anything, btw.)

"They used to call Bush an imperial president, which was ridiculous"

I'm not sure whom he's referring to as "they," but if he's talking about the Americans who were outraged that we had to endure two terms of that dim-witted dictator, that claim is not ridiculous.

When will Hannity realize that Obama is president because he was ELECTED. The Supreme Court didn't pick him. Ohio's votes weren't compromised. Obama won because a majority of voters voted for him. If Hannity has a problem with that kind of democracy, then maybe he doesn't really know what America is all about.

Agree!! The only thing wrong with what you say is that your statement assumes from the onset that Hannity is capable of understanding what happened in the last election. He is not.

Yes just like Bush Obama was elected. But talk about dictators lets see how Obama is doing.

Car Czar and Obama break bankruptcy law to give Chrysler to the Union instead of the rightful owners the Indiana State Pension Fund.

The Pay Czar with the Fed tell the Bank of America CEO and Board Members they would be fired if they did not buy Merrill Lynch.

Obama has fired CEO's and Board members that disagree with him. Since when does a president have that power over private industry. Because of the stimulus let them fail.

Obama fires an IG and goes around a law he co-sponsored.

The pay Czar can now regulate all salaries of all executives in the nation.
The Fed given more power, Congress wants to audit the Fed but stopped by the Fed and Barney Frank, one of the same people that stopped the audit of Fannie and Freddie in 2005

Sounds like a dictator to me.

BAnk of America bought Merril Lynch when Bush was in office. It was a scheme put together by Bush's appointee.

The union and Chrysler came to an AGREEMENT in order for Chrysler to file for bankruptcy.

Obama suggested that one CEO step down, which he did.

Obama did not fire the IG. The committee suggested the IG be removed due to his conduct and Obama followed their suggestion. There was no law broken.

Please provide proof that the "pay Czar can now regulate all salaries of all executives in the nation"

Just like Fox News, you are pulling "facts" from thin air and inventing stories.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:36 AM on 07/02/2009

Just exactly where do you get your "facts"? To whom are you listening that is feeding you this information? Can you back these allegations up with real proof or are you spouting the comments of extremist right wing radio and television commentary?

"If Hannity has a problem with that kind of democracy, then maybe he doesn't really know what America is all about."

Hannity has a problem with Barack Obama. He hates him. He hates that Obama's good looking, he hates that he's intelligent, he hates that he's in a loving marriage and has a loving family, he hates that America and the world has embraced him, and he hates that no matter how hard he tries to diminish President Obama, nothing has worked! He hates that President Obama not only contradicts Sean's stereotype of black men, but that he excels over the white men and women who have been in competition with him.

President Obama has forced Sean Hannity and others like him (i.e. Mark Levin) to take a second look at themselves, and they're not comfortable with what they see. Ultimately, the redemption of their self-image relies on destroying his image.

Hannity's America is a racist, white, bible-clutching, gun-toting, uneducated or under-educated, intolerant and separatist people who believe that America belongs to them and who thrive on fear and hatred for those who threaten their worldview. When Sean and his ilk speak of a "Great American," this is the standard of their judgment.

That, or you must believe anything that you read.
