Mark Levin

Right-wing talk radio firebrand Mark Levin was a guest on Sean Hannity's self-titled Fox News show and unleashed a diatribe against President Obama.

Responding to Hannity's question of why his book "Liberty and Tyranny" is doing so well, Levin lit into Obama, calling his policies "Bernie Madoff times a thousand;" Obama "is taking a wrecking ball to this;" and that Obama's ultimate goal is to "destroy the middle class."

Hannity cheers him on the whole way through (his favorite way of referring to Levin is as "The Great One"), although it's questionable if the Republican party wants Levin out there as the face of their ideology considering the man has a history of embarrassing himself and conservatism.

WATCH

Mark Levin to Hannity:

Because I think the American people are fundamentally liberty-loving people. And what's going on in this country is really anti-liberty. The President, you know, they just put Bernie Madoff away for life; the President's policies are Bernie Madoff times a thousand. He is taking a wrecking ball to this society. The American people love this country. They love its institutions; they revere the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. What the President is peddling is something utterly foreign. He's dragging us into what de Toqueville called a 'soft tyranny.' And really I don't know what the limits are on the power of the presidency anymore. They used to call Bush an imperial president, which was ridiculous, this is a real, live imperial president, who wants to dictate light bulbs to what medicines you get, to student loans and credit card interest rates. He doesn't have the constitutional authority to be doing all these things.

[...]

He lied. Matter of fact he's taken his page right out of Saul Alinsky's rules for radicals. Saul Alinsky essentially said, look, you gotta sound like you're for the middle class. You gotta sound like you're from the middle class. And then you destroy the middle class.

Sean Hannity has no college degree - dropped out of not 1, but 2 colleges. He was a general contractor and bartender before going into radio. Basically, he's Joe the Plumber with a talk show.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Hannity

Hannity also hangs out with known white supremicists/Nazis. His buddy, Hal Turner was recently arrested for advocating the murder of federal judges. In Hannity's America, everyone is white, Christian and a right wingnut. It's no wonder he has hate-mongering people like this on his show

So why would anybody give him credibility? Comparing Obama to Madoff is both inaccurate and incredibly offensive. It's no wonder that Hannity appeals to the low IQ crowd with little education or ability to think for themselves. Besides, it was really Bush and Cheney who were like Madoff. Lied us into an unecessary war that raped and pillaged our economy. Made their rich friends even richer and the rest of us poorer. Wake up, people.

Wikpedia not all that relieable....dropped out indicates Sean's choice. Flunked out indicates colleges' choice.

Yes, his choice - perhaps he couldn't keep up or he couldn't commit to staying the course or he just had no direction in life which is how he became a contractor and bartender, then radio. Sounds like he was drifting through life. He seems to have found his true passion though, as a Naziesque hatemongering talk show host.

Don't need a degree to realize you don't spend yourself out of debt.

But you do spend yourself out of a recession so perhaps you should go get that degree.

As for the debt, Clinton left a surplus. Bush immediately raided the till and gave all his rich friends tax cuts. Then he ignored warnings about bin laden, helping 9/11 to happen, which caused further downturn. Then he lied us into unecessary war, since Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 or Al Queda, which put us further into debt. Bush spent like a drunken sailor, but not on things that would be good for the country, like infrastructure and education so we can compete with other countries. His GOP congress enabled him. Even when the Dems won in 2006, it was more like 50-50, and they couldn't overcome the the Reps. The $700B Bailout was Bush's. Paulson gave out the money to his Wall Street buddies with no accountability. That increased the debt more. So, Bush turned the largest budget surplus in history into the largest deficit in history, causing hs to have to borrow more and more from China.

Obama is just trying to clean up the mess. It's necessary to spend now to get the economy going again. To not spend would put us into a depression. Paying off the debt will come later when the economy recovers and healthcare costs are reduced. Tax cuts are not the answer for everything. If you don't have a job, there are no taxes to cut. Got it now?

Tell that to a gambler who will spend their last and then hit a jackpot. Sometimes you have to do it for a better end result. Wall Street ain't crying I see.

No. However, when one has EARNED a degree, usually they have a broader perspective and understanding of more subjects than just ones' own buddies who have written a book.

That is the cry of those who don't know the difference between micro and macro economics. In macro economics, fiscal policy is one tools we use to pull the economy out of a deep recession or depression. When the system's demand is collapsing there is only one entity that can spend and pump demand back into the economy, the federal government. That is what finally pulled us out of the great depression, massive spending for WW2, and the primary factor for the Reagan expansion during the 80s.

If we hadn't spent the economy would likely be in the throes of another great depression. Imagine all the major banks failing at once, then complete shut down of credit, along with GM, and Chrysler closing their doors. The direct loss of jobs would have been millions, not including the indirect job losses, the sub contractors, local banks, etc. It would have been a great depression scenario.

Oh but the vaunted "free market" would have taken over right. But how? With no capital and a massive deflationary spiral how would the entrepreneurs been able to afford to get in the market and make up the difference. The economy is highly integrated in todays world, something those stuck in ideology of the 1780s can;t seem to understand.

Mark Levin's "Liberty and Tyranny" number one on The New York Times Bestsellers list.
I sense there is much nashing of teeth at the Gray Lady right now and they wallow in the red ink.

Sure when you have an audience of low information sycophants its easy to sell a lot of books. Two million people buying books is plenty to keep a book at number 1, but it's still less than 1% of the population. Oh and don't forget Obama's Audacity of Hope was on the list for 30 weeks.

Two complete idiots on the same show at the same time. If Levin loves the Constitution so much, why didn't he complain when Dubya was trampling all over it? Where was Levin's voice while Dubya was doubling the national debt? These conservatives condemn the Obama administration for borrowing so much money. They always fail to mention that George W. Bush, because of his irresponsible economic policies, and because he was asleep at the wheel for 8 years as POTUS, totally wrecked the American economy, and left it in shambles. Obama has been charged with cleaning up Bush's mess. It will be a tough job. It will cost a lot of money. I wonder if they really think that McCain/Palin could handle it better?

You must get all your news from SNL. They have really sold you a bill of goods. Everything Obama does is Bushes fault. It is Bushs fault that he signed an Omnibus bill with tons of earmarks. It is Bushs fault that his stimulus did not work. It is Bushs fault that he has guadrupled the debt. When will it be Obama's fault

He does want to dictate what medicine we get, since we currently have access to virtually no healthcare. He wants to do something about credit card interest rates that have been raised to as much as 40.56% for people with GOOD credit! We do love liberty, and Bush made it unaffordable to most. Between just his continued outsourcing, visas, tax breaks for the wealthy and his illegal war, we were devastated. And lets not forget that he started the big bucks giveaway, putting us in a position where we couldn't afford to let these banks fail. What we need to do is start realizing that Obama has only had 5 months to try to fix a system that's been broken for years.

Rather than these people talking about everything they see is wrong, perhaps they could redeem themselves by coming up with a few positive ideas, other than "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." If they want to see how badly we need the help, perhaps they should stop being treated favorably because of their celebrity status and start having to live the way which is becoming the norm rather than the exception.

So disprove a thing that he said. Obama is over reaching and there is about to be a major backlash. Say what you will about tea parties but they are growing. In my state there were two held the last time and there are now six scheduled for the fourth of July. The one they just held in New York was rather impressive even by Liberal ant-war protest standards.

Where was this jerk when Bush was doing all the spending.
If you read or anything about econimics of a nation is that at the time of recession if govt. does not do anything the misery just gets prolonged. FDR, Japan during nineties. Economist after economist has said that we do not invest now in the economy we are only going to prolong this depression.
Here's a scenario. Obama doesn't do anything and as a result economy gets worse. Guess who would be first in line to point fingers at him? People like you.
