continued...Obama, sober as he is, reminds him that is has to be plausible, but the greater the consequence, the more you can do, but you have to have a strong perception of freedom for this classified balance to work. Medvedav says that should be the easy part, we fight terror too. The two great men, realizing their pivotal point in history, have found common ground. Medvedav tells Obama that his Supreme Court is forcing him to reopen criminal investigation for the good of the people. Obama chuckles and tells Medvedav that his Supreme court refused to even acknowledge what the terrorist surveillance program is and how it is effecting his people. For a second, the two men realize the trajectory of their two great countries may have crossed. As they try to get back to talking about strategic deterrence, the two men settle on the fact that security and safety will be the common ground for their respective people to live rich and deep lives. Lives that will never have to be defined my nationalistic pride in a strong and secure state when all else fails. Yes, the two men see eye to eye but one probably has a tear in his eye. Medvedav says, is John McCain jumping up and down again?. Obama says, no I think I just say a shooting star and you probably would never be able to swallow how big it was.

Differences should be easy to set aside once they realize how much they have in common. In a thick Russian accent, Medvedev may ask what is Article II of your Constitution? Obama replies that it is a legal theory that lets the president brake the law only to protect freedom. Medvedev is curious. Obama explains that is is inherent in his constitution, especially when they are fighting terror. Medvedav challenges how the people of the freest country on earth don't object to this. Obama has to take Medvedav aside. He carefully explains how every American is lead to believe that rule of law is the delicate balance between freedom and security, but in reality, their is a classified balance, that no American knows about, under the entire concept of rule of law. The problem is that there are grave and dire consiquneces to exposing this classified balance, mainly at home, and then Obama starts to cough. Medvedev urges him on. Obama explains, that under the banner of fighting terror, the FBI has war time powers to target any citizen that has any hypothetical potential of causing harm to national security. Medvedav says, that could be any and every one of my opponent! (continued)...
