DraftBachmann.com: Mock Website Plugs Michele Bachmann For Governor

Huffington Post   First Posted: 08/02/09 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 02:35 PM ET

Bachmann

With the 2010 Minnesota gubernatorial race approaching, and Representative Michelle Bachmann still mum on whether or not she will run, the Democratic Governors Association has launched DraftBachmann.com, a hoax website ironically supporting her potential candidacy.

"If Michele Bachmann knows anything, it's that out-dated ideas -- like helping the middle class -- are ruining this country. And in a year when hospitals are struggling, teachers are being laid off and road repairs are delayed, Bachmann's ideas are exactly what we need if we are going to truly protect our billionaires."

The website urges people to pick a Fourth of July e-card to send out to friends and family. Each of the cards exhibits a prime Bachmann quotation.

Michelle Bachmann on global warming:
"...it's all voodoo, nonsense, hokum, a hoax."

Michelle Bachmann on common sense job creation:
"Literally, if we took away the minimum wage... we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level."

Michelle Bachmann on Barack Obama:
"I'm very concerned that [Barack Obama] may have anti-American views."

Michelle Bachmann on science:
"Where do we say that a cell became a blade of grass, which became a starfish, which became a cat, which became a donkey, which became a human being? There's a real lack of evidence from change from actual species to a different type of species. That's where it's difficult to prove."

Michelle Bachmann on setting life goals:
"My number one goal is to not go to jail."

Michelle Bachmann on Congress:
"I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-American or anti-American."

"Climate Change" really is. Natural cycles. Nothing more, nothing less.

What if the people ask for proof? "Just tell them that all the Scientist agree that it is real, and they are smarter then
them, so they need just accept it. Any Scientists that say it's not real are just kooks, or bought off by big oil."

More and more REAL Scientists are coming out, using real science to debunk the hoax.
More and more people are actually starting to listen to the FACTS and deciding that it makes no sense whatsoever.
They are starting to question it. Well, they can't have THAT. Why? Because they can't win an intelligent fact and science based argument.
They can not win because there is NO real Science in it. There are no PROVABLE facts to back up what they say.

Al Gore has been telling us we only have ten years left for about 15 years.
All the predictions are completely wrong, every time the give them.

Global warming, is not a scientific theory as such,
it is a cult, or to put it more tactfully, a religion. It is a belief system that first
takes a big picture stance that is non-negotiable, and then requires a plethora of supporters,
adherents and believers to "push" the message, ridiculing and
sidelining those who dissent. Rhetoric rather than facts are common in the promulgation of the cult.

Historical and climatological facts do not support the threat of Global Warming.
During the last "Climatic Optimum", from 700 to 1200 AD, the planet was much warmer
than it is now. This led to a population explosion in Scandinavia (which gave rise to the Viking Age)

Later, during the "Little Ice Age" of 1400 to 1800, Norse settlements in Greenland were wiped out
and Iceland nearly followed.

The average person has been misled and is confused about what the current Global Warming debate is about, greenhouse gases. None of which has anything to do
with air pollution. People are confusing Smog, Carbon Monoxide (CO) and the pollutants in
car exhaust with the life supporting, essential trace gas in our atmosphere, Carbon Dioxide (CO2).

Please don't take our Michelle away!!! She has been put on this earth to provide levity in a serious time, why, who would entertain us?
09:18 AM on 07/05/2009
she provides a lot more than just levity. she can become a major asset for dems in fund raising and in expanding the party. I hope dems have a strategy to increase her visibility on the national stage while not causing her to lose her seat.

She really is one of the true wonders of the world. She doesn't believe in global warming..maybe bachmann and the rest of those clowns should come to Houston were the temps have been at 100 degrees. And this is the beginning of the summer days...it's that in July the ringling bros circus is in town and bachmann would a great to one of there side shows...one I do agree with bachmann on is that there be some truth to evolution being a theory because she is a surviving specimen straight from the stone age...she truly is the gift that keeps on giving please continue to make more comments in public so really can out just how bizarre she really is... she truly is waste of semen

How did MInnesota produce someone like her? I don't get it. THey're in the North. She seems like she belongs WAAAAAY down South or WAAAAAAAY up north in Alaska with Trog's mom.
03:26 AM on 07/05/2009
Oh, yeah, folks in the north are sooooo much better than those in the south! Get a grip on your prejudices. Ignorance, as you have just demonstrated, is not regional.

No. I think fefo is saying people in the south tend to vote for candidates like Bachmann. The author John Grishman, a southerner, says they have a saying in the south. "Think rich, live poor". It's the same in rural Minnesota too though.

I am so embarrassed for the people of Minnesota, and sorry for the rest of us.

please, we don't need you to be embarrassed for us, one district in our State voted for this woman, and she would never win a State wide race. Every State elects oddballs now and then, we're just happy to add such a wide range of entertaining moments brought to you by MB. I recently did a round of graduation parties, and she came up as a topic at every one, and it wasn't in a good way, she doesn't have a chance in this race.

I am willing to bet there are enough stupid voters in Minnesota to 1) think this is real and 2) agree with those statements.

Between Palin and Bachmann, women in Politics aren't looking very 'viable' right now ...
