Eric Holder Getting Emergency Oral Surgery

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric Holder had emergency oral surgery Thursday to remove a cracked tooth.

Holder spokesman Matthew Miller said the attorney general cracked his molar Wednesday night and went to a dentist in pain in the morning. Miller said the dentist told Holder the tooth needed to be removed right away, and he had a 75-minute procedure before being sent home to rest.

Miller said Holder won't be able to fly for several days. He canceled an afternoon trip to Colorado, where he was scheduled to appear at the Aspen Institute for a discussion with CBS "Face the Nation" host Bob Schieffer.

Miller said he did not know how Holder cracked the tooth.

Well, if he's in that much pain and doesnt want to worry about the ill side effects from Tylenol (which was just put under review and shown to cause liver damage...a­s if we didnt know that already) then he can grab some of the US Govt stash of marijuana and toke up with Gil Kerlikowske while they sit back and laugh at us for wanting medical marijuana

I'm glad AG office released the statement, which explained why he won't be able to make the interview with Bob S.. I can only imagine the rumors, lies and bashing PO would've gotten if Holder hadn't honored the interview with Face the Nation.

I hope, Holder's recovery goes well.

My wife is on medicare and has a broken front tooth. Guess what? There is no dental plan in Medicare / Medicaid.

We have a bid of $2000 for a temporary bridge, and another $4000 for a complete fix of her front teeth. Needless to say, we don't have either.

So now my gentle, loving wife must avoid using her front teeth for eating -- and avoid smiling.

What a great country, huh?

I'm sorry to hear about AG Holder's tooth. Toothache pain is miserable. I trust that AG Holder has dental coverage to not only have the tooth extracted, but the bridge put in place so his smile is retained, and his bite doesn't get distorted as the teeth shift around the gap.

I wish I had dental coverage..­.

I cracked a back molar. Bridge doesn't work. Had to have an implant. Regular insurance covered tooth extraction. Had to pay for the implant ~ $2000. Supplemental dental insurance covered part of the crown.
