Supreme Court Sotomayor

New York Times:

"We have 60 votes on paper," Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader, said Wednesday in an interview. "But we cannot bulldoze anybody; it doesn't work that way. My caucus doesn't allow it. And we have a very diverse group of senators philosophically. I am not this morning suddenly flexing my muscles."

Indeed, becoming the first party in 30 years to reach the fabled plateau of 60 could create as many political problems as it solves, raising expectations sky high and potentially causing a backlash should Democrats falter on energy or health care.

Just a suggestion, something you may want to consider, about thinking about this in a new way:

That perhaps Harry has a pair, and uses them effectively, and that perhaps your objectives (which are also my objectives) and Harry's aren't the same?

Which would mean that he (and the rest of the DLC controlled Democratic party) has managed to get into office with our votes and our money and campaigning efforts and NOT deliver on their promises, explain to use it's due to (one excuse after another), have us believing that they're inept, and we STILL vote for them in the next election.

How stu.pid are we?

Harry's doing very well financially. They all are. We? Not so much.

Whatever the reason for his spinelessness or his facade of wimpiness, he has to be replaced.

And falter they will. The democrats have a bold history of taking their advantage and squandering it horribly, ending up making the Republicans look good simply because they get stuff done, even though the stuff they get done is terrible for the country as a whole.

I can see the point here. They've got a majority and they will do nothing with it and the Republicans will bounce right back saying "I told you so". And the Democrats will be like "oh well", because they're all rich, what do they care if it's another 8 years of Republicans razing the ghettos.

of course not, Harry. especially when you intend to keep the Democrats failing, first as a minority, now as a majority. WE ARE ON TO YOU, HARRY. You never intend to support a progressive agenda. WE GET IT ALREADY!!!!!!!!!

It is time for Obama to use that "steel" they speak of to whip the Dems in line and Harry Reid out of line. We also need the few strong Senate leaders to help and step up to the plate.

Is he up for re-election in 2010?

Voters should bulldoze him as an example.

Reid needs to go. He's not a leader and isn't motivated to lead.

Lets make something clear to all you Bible-toting, spouse-cheating, non-reading, burn-the-books, re-thugs! ! ! Pelosi gets the job done in the House. That is why you guys ATTACK HER and not the spineless one. If you clowns trying to diss Pelosi, in hopes of turning the public opinion against her, produce some facts.

If Democratic senators can't get in a room, develop an agenda that they can all live with that supports the American people, communicate that to the President - then they don't deserve to be in power. I certainly don't believe that the Republicans should ever, ever have any authority in this country ever again. They have done damage not only to America, but to the world. But if the Democrats are so scattered that they cannot work out their differences behind closed doors and present a united front, then it's time for a new party. The president presented his agenda over the last two years, and a majority of Americans voted in support of that agenda. Many more since the election have also come on board with this agenda. If the Democratic senators don't understand that, then it's time for another change. This country has been left to neglect for far too long.

Are the Dems able to elect a new Majority Leader?
Seriously....with comments and actions like his..he would not
make a good employee ANYWHERE..
What is he doing as a Leader?....He's a joke!..What does it take for the Dems to fire him?

You tell 'em Harry! This is still a capitalist country and you and your fellow Senators have to honor your commitments to the people who paid to get you there! The Rich and the Influential people who own the corporations! They give you millions you further their interests. What's so hard to understand about that?
