Highest Paid Actresses Of 2008: Jolie Vs. Aniston For #1

Forbes magazine has put out their annual Celebrity 100. In a neverending battle fit for the tabloids, the top spot for highest-paid actress was a battle between Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston.

Below is a slideshow of the top 5. Just missing out and tied at #6 with 2008 take-home salaries of $15 million were Sandra Bullock and Reese Witherspoon.

"Salt" is widely reported to be a $15 million or 15% deal so she got no upfront money, she just had her expenses for the family covered, insurance, transport and security. If she did have back end on "Wanted" and "Kung Fu Panda" she got way more than $25 million dollars.

Jen's number is also wrong if breakaleg4 is right. She filmed ONE movie during that time period and she did not have a back-end deal on "Marley & Me". So her $8 million salary for that film was paid well before 6/08. Even with those lies Jen is over $25 million though with $8 million for "Baster", $16.67 million for "Friends" and her SmartWater pay from CocaCola."

Slow news day. If good acting were a criteria for how much money some make, then Madoff is a thesbian renown along with his would be nephew Eric Swanson.

Btw I just saw Michael Mann's Dillinger with Christian Bale and Johnny Depp. The scenes are beautifully filmed, the gun play is perfectly balanced and the acting is interesting. I recommend it highly. You'll enjoy the love story in it also, I believe the woman is an award winner. It was like drinking an old glass of granddads cognac on a rainy day.

Reminded me of how movies SHOULD be produced.

Cotillard was brilliant as Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose...she so deserved that award.
I still get chills when I think of several of her heart rendering scenes in that movie.
Well worth watching that movie, just turn on the english subtitles and be mesmerized. I had seen Cotillard in several other movies, she is a stunning woman...bu­t she melted in to that role of Piaf...you would not know it was an actress in that part.

I was on the Bounty Hunter set yesterday. J. Aniston is starring w/ Gerard Butler --- and the AD had just announced that she bought the entire day today. Which means - she paid for the day off for the entire production so everyone could have a 4 day weekend...­. I don't know exactly what that would cost - but I would venture the sum starts around $350-400, 000 + Very nice of her. Wow - my mortgage would be paid off completely, w/ a bit to spare. *sigh*
