New York Magazine:

"That was ridiculous," Levi says of the RNC. "I was just like, 'Uhhh.'  " At the time, the Palins insinuated he'd have to move to D.C. if McCain won. "I ain't never moving," he says with a shudder, thinking back. Luckily for him, his team lost. He and Bristol broke up early this year, shortly after they welcomed baby Tripp Easton into the world. But the life of this self-described "fucking redneck" did not go back to normal.

Well, if you couldn't see this boy coming to Hollywood a mile away then you must be living on the planet Zion! Some blogger predicted this from his first pic on the scene.

I like him, seems like a perfectly normal young American male.

Continued success

MsLiz,
You referred to Thomas Gilmore, former sheriff of Greene County, Alabama in commments posted more than a year ago. I found them to be interesting because he is my father. I would love to know more about what you or your family might remember about him.

All this cross country travel undertaken by the Palin family and the baby daddy tells me that these folks are the real elitists! I can't afford the expense or the time away from my family to travel here and there. Not many people can.

I've posted on another thread that Sarah Palin has resigned for the money. I think she has accepted a position with Fox. She wants the hell out of Wasilla. New York's a great place to live: as long as you can afford it....

why does everyone have to be an intellectual.

Reading doesn't make you "an intellectual" - it makes you literate. Something more people could use. It guarantees nothing of intelligence...obviously.

For Palin to leave before the end of her term without explanation to her constituency is extremely self-serving, no matter how she tries to spin it.

She is up to something, watch her.

There are several possibilities and the more information we gain the clearer it will become.

Here are some of the possible reasons: 1. She couldn't take the heat and the scrutiny that comes with being a controversial figure and is opting out of politics -- at l;east for now. 2. Rumors have been circulating in Alaska about a criminal investigation. Is another shoe about to drop? 3. She is out to make money while she still hot and enjoys her fame. 4. There is some family crisis or situation. 5. She has some big job lined up.

In descending order of probability: 2, 1, 3, 5. 4 has been ruled out and the evidence for 2 makes 5 pretty unlikely.

Probably the only person in that circle of whom I have a remotely positive opinion of. Certainly not Sarah or Todd.

Bristol perhaps for the brief moment of clarity where she called abstinence unrealistic, but then she was apparently sent to conservative rehab to reprogramming and recanted.

Not Levi's mother or sister.

Levi is about the only one whose every utterance woudln't immediately be filed under "lie" the moment it left his lips.

Are you kidding? The Republican Pravda Network having asomebody who can puncture some more gigantic holes in Sarah Palin's phony family values BS, further exposing how dysfunctional her family really is? It will never happen. Not on that right wing tilted network. No way, no how.

The bulk of Fox viewers are pretty dysfunctional themselves. Besides, TV (and more so Fox TV) doesn't encourage scratching the surface.

George W Bush paved the way for the rural, unintelligent, and self-obsessed wing of the Republican party to become its public face. The reason the party has had so much trouble getting its act together is because they can't decide which identity suits them best.

VERY good comment,cjk002!! I have known of the very-ignorant Shrub, since as a fan of the Texas Rangers baseball team,I had seen him frequently on television. EVEN ON TV, it was plain to see that he had sub-standard intelligence, that he was just being "supported" by other executives of the team...I have always voted against him, whenever I had the opportunity, and am still crying over his defeat of Ann Richards for governor of Texas...that's where the ruination began...during the campaigns last fall,I couldn't believe what I was hearing from the lips of Sarah Palin..obviously,some Right Wingers liked the sound of it,altho for the life of me I can't fathom the attraction. She looks like a Pentacostal going door-to-door selling religion, and talks like the prostitutes in "Fargo"(the movie!),at "screech" volume setting.

George Bush was born in Conn. He was Rubeish, but played the part, since he wasn't as bright as his Yale Alums.

You really can't blame Levi. It seems he did not want to go to the RNC. Look how Palin puts enormous pressure on adults. Levi is just a kid from the country, how would he be able to say no to that witch? The Police Commissioner had a hard time of it.
I feel sorry for Levi. If Bristol hadn't gotten pregnant, his life would not have been so disrupted by Palin and McCain.
I hope he learns a lot from this experience and finds a way to get the hell out of Wasilla and make a good life for himself and his son.

This kid didn't ask for any of this. He was dragged into the fray as a prop for Palin. Now his life will never be the same. Don't hate on him because he's taking stock of where he is now, seeing what he can make of it, before trying to return to some kind of normal. Palin robbed him of that. Save your snark for her. Out of that Wasilla group, he actually makes the most sense.

The great thing about Levi is the fact that the Republicans are desperate to see their creation go away.
They dragged that boy into the spotlight, full of praise for the life he and Bristol represented and now they can't trash him hard enough.
There is no person in America more happy for the Obama victory than Levi Johnston. He did not end up the political prisoner he was destined to be if the Republicans had won.
I hope he stays in the spotlight through 2012 as a reminder of how low the Republicans are willing to go to win.

Yep. As long as he was useful to La Palin, he had to play his part. As soon as he wasn't needed, he was given the pink slip.

That's the Palin MO. See also Randy Ruedrich, Don Young, John McCain, and the people of Ketchikan. I think Sarah stays in shape not by running but by all the allies she throws under the bus when it is to her advantage.
