Rachel Maddow: Gone Fishin'!

Wondering where Rachel Maddow's been all week?

While Executive Producer Bill Wolff's wife Alison Stewart has filled in, Rachel's been on vacation fishing in Massachusetts.

Cape Cod's Nelson's Bait and Tackle shop reported that Rachel joined them for a trip on the fishing boat the Beth Ann last weekend, and Thursday morning she tweeted a photo with a prize catch (see below for full version).

"Have caught all fish in sea. Sorry! Ready to think politics again soon," she wrote.

I suppose it's just as well that Rachel is on vacation while MSNBC is in its "All Michael Jackson All The Time" mode. Seeing her participate in that grotesque excercise, while thousands of marines storm southern Afghanistan and other actual NEWS items occur, would've put me off MSNBC forever instead of just temporarily. Rachel Maddow is a class act. I don't always agree with her, but she takes on subjects others will not touch. I first heard her on Air America and I was so happy MSNBC gave her a show.

Several of the MSNBC regulars were MIA this week. I hope this is not a sign of things to come. We need a network that reports things other will not. I am always suspicious when a network is owned by the largest defense contracor in the world.

Not at all... Those are important points. Rachel builds her entire show's format on those topics...which is fine for the leocon leftists...but the majority of the viewers want to see something more comprehensive than that. Plus she bashes a President who hasn't been in office a year because of her focus on her single issue items. Rachel has a radio show for that. I think her ratings will continue to validate this response.

i have really liked alison as a sub, and glad to have had the opportunity to watch her, she does an excellent job and is smart and with the program...but i miss rachel and will be soo happy when she returns!
