Any yahoo running around in scrubs on a televised program is a poison peddler. What a joke.

Thou shalt not speak poorly of Oprah or her friends, lol. But no, really, I love Dr. Oz, he's a talented heart surgeon so calling him a tool is not that nice when he's out there saving lives, many many lives. He also does medical research to futher advance knowledge of the human heart. He's very passionate about his work and encouraging people to live a healthy long life. And those acai berry scams you see on the internet? Those swindlers use his name, Dr. Oz has no part in that. He mentioned on an Oprah show that the acai berry is a great source of antioxidants and scammers took his words and popularity and exploited it.

For cryin out loud -- haven't Harpo Inc and Dr Oz Enterprises made ENOUGH money from their uncancellable 'free trial' acai berry, reservatrol, liftsp, etc SCAMS?

These people are SCAM PEDDLERS, they prey on people who think they are getting a FREE TRIAL of the product but then end up being charged HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS that are IMPOSSIBLE to have returned! Look up reservatrol, acai berry scam on google to read the thousands upon thousands of complaints of women who were taken advantage of by these CROOKS.

yes, Oprah and Dr OZ are nothing but CROOKS in sheeps clothing. They aren't interested in helping YOU -- they are only interested in helping THEMSELVES to your debit card every month with recurring charges you have to CHANGE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT to stop them from constantly debiting you.

Someone needs to SPEAK OUT and REALIZE THESE ARE NOT NICE PEOPLE ANYMORE.

They are GREEDY SCAMMERS.

I would not take advice from a man -if that is what he is-who only owns scrubs.

***We're going to talk about extreme life extension," he says. "I'm talking about very specifically allowing us to go into our second century of life with the vitality and the bounciness that you have when you're a young person.***

Of course.

When I'm 200 I'll be just as healthy as I was when I was 18

Great prediction Dr Quack

The answer is No, Dr. Oz is not a wizard. This information has been around for decades, actually longer! He just picked up on it and hooked up with Oprah and is taking credit for being a health genius, but he's merely offering information that is available to anyone who follows an interest in longevity which is continually being researched by many. It's more complex than just eating a restricted diet, there are too many factors at play to make such claims. Be your own health wizard and find out what works for you.

So let me get this straight. This man peels an apple so he can eat nothing but the peel. And he doesn't have an eating disorder?

For those of you interested in experiments, there is another longevity one in the works, completely designed by Nature, not the science/medical community. It is designed to achieve a very long and illness-free life, but you can eat all the food you want. The trick is to pick the foods that are in alignment with your evolutionary heritage.

Those of us participating in this new experiment have a different hypothesis as to why the calorie-restricted diet (CRD) studies improved lifespan. I have named it the "rat chow effect." CRD studies show that when you feed rats less rat chow, they live longer and healthier lives. If I was a rat and you fed me less Frankenchow, I would also live longer. Rat chow bears little resemblance to a natural rat diet, and can be viewed as toxic to a rat. The bottom line: if you feed rats smaller amounts of toxic food three times a day, they live longer! Same for humans.

The corollary to the above is the hypothesis that if you feed living organisms a diet that is in perfect alignment with what nature intended, they may well outlive the CRD group.

For those interested in research and references supporting the above, and a peek at what nature intended humans to eat, ask your librarian for a copy of "The Wellness Project," designed by Nature and researched by me. It will shock you!

Oprah Winfrey started getting on my nerves a long time ago.

Okay so we live to be 125 by cutting out all the fun stuff -- this food obsession is just another way we're showing our Puritanical roots. I loved the Auntie Mame comment: "Life is a glorious buffet and most poor bastards are starving to death." We Americans seem to jump from one puritanical obsession to another. Where's Zorba the Greek when we need him? I looking forward to when we get back to obsessing about hedonism. Hey, it's TGIF -- time to party!

You clearly didn't read the article.
There is a summary on ways to extend healthy living and doubling weekly sex is on that list. Its all common sense and it is too bad people have come to think that eating processed food is "fun stuff" and healthy and wholesome food is Puritannical.

Wouldn't "fun stuff" like hiking, surfing, dancing, and various sports participation as well as stess relief from pampering yourself on a personal level, having plenty of sex, eating healthy foods etc. actually be healthy and enjoyable? So avoiding "fun stuff" would be bad for you right?

Deepak Chopra had the same idea/plan for long life almost 20 years ago. He wrote about it back around 1991. Look up his books.....

Dr. OZ is not original, and frankly, not that great of a doctor. He's a "Pop Doc" ( trendy, Hollywood,
on TV and probably way overpaid).

I like Dr. Oz. He is actually very extraordinary in his work and writing. His life is balanced between holistic and allopathic health. Just because he has chosen to express his ideas on Oprah, does not mean he should be dismissed. He is a gifted surgeon who practices what he preaches.

Dr. Oz is vice chair of surgery and professor of cardiac surgery at Columbia University. He directs the Cardiovascular Institute and is a founder and director of the Complementary Medicine program at New York Presbyterian Medical Center.

Medicine is like every other profession. Those who get the cushy positions are the ones who've mastered the politics of a particular institution.

I don't watch him or Oprah (no TV) but I have to say all of this makes sense...if you read it that is. Why so quick to judge and dismiss the information simply because of the messenger?

And it made sense ,ore than 15 yrs ago when Deepak Chopra covered it in his book:

" Ageless Body, Timeless Mind: The Quantum Alternative to Growing Old "

Dr. Oz is not pushing anything original...

Du.mbat52-Before you open your mouth you should have checked Dr. Oz's credentials. He's a very accomplished surgeon of great international acclaim.
