Palin's Brother: Sarah Fed Up With "Non-Stop Negative Media Blitz" (VIDEO)

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's brother called into Fox News and said he was surprised by her shocking announcement that she will resign the governorship, and he believes that at least part of her decision stems from a "non-stop negative media blitz" that was consuming her and her staff's time.

I can tell you what I believe after a few conversations with Sarah on the subject. Two months ago, we were at a local ski resort talking in a hotel room and she reiterated to me the amount of time she was spending defending herself from these ethics complaints, by the way have all been thrown out, and this non-stop negative media blitz. She said she was spending up to 80% of her time, and a lot of her key staff was doing the same, defending themselves when they should be focusing on state issues. And it's not fair to the state and it's not fair to her family. I think this has weighed on her for a long time.

For Palin to play the victim that it was too rough -- tells you how thin skinned she is. It being too rough at Governor level -- don't even consider Pres. You also have to look at who was one of the jumpers on of President Obama -- Palin -- at every chance she could. Through the campaign it continued right up to and including her resignation speech.

This woman -- which I cringe saying that as she gives hard working, intelligent women a bad name -- dropped lies throughout her resignation speech. The state spent 2 million on the ethics -- no. The numbers were released on Thursday appearing in the Alaska papers - the cost to state was $300,000, 2/3 of that being for the ethics charge she filed against herself. $30,000 for one she did have to pay the state back for kids travel. Many of the 15 ethics she spoke of didn't cost $5,000 each. She stated ethics charge for picture holding a fish -- how stupid is she as it never happened.

When will this self-absorbed politicians learn that all their lies can be debunked in no time at all and very quickly appear all over the blogs. It's not the days of waiting for the next day's newspaper. It takes minutes plus the quickness of people researching the information. They don't get it as they continue to insulate themselves in a bubble believing themselves protected.

3. troopergate - official findings, "There is no probable cause to believe that the governor, or any other state official, violated the Alaska Executive Ethics Act in connection with these matters."
4. SNL - suggesting that her husband and her daughter slept together, numerous other deeply offensive comments; Letterman - almost nightly insults which culminated in an infamous jab at her daughter; Maher - deeply mysognistic comments about her appearance and capabilities

6. wants creationism taught in school - another lie
7. she was a member of the Alaska Independence Party - lie
8. she raised the debt of Wasilla - no, it was a referendum voted on by the people
9. she made women pay for r...a..pe kits - the cash-strapped chief of police forwarded bills to insurance companies if the woman had insurance - NO WOMAN WAS EVER PERSONALLY BILLED
10. Numerous charges of ethics violations: using her position to support initiatives, cronyism, and wearing a jacket with a logo (for crissakes). Only ONE stuck, a gray area - that she'd charged family travel to the state. To end the nonsense - she paid the bill.

The list continues. This was a character assassination that was all carefully orchestrated by the hate websites on the left, and their surragates in the MSM, Hollywood and the DNC.

This stuff happens to ALL politicians. It has even been suggested that Hillary was accused of somehow being involved in the death of a really close friend, but you never heard her say the things that Sarah Palin does. The difference is Palin thinks that she has to RESPOND to everything. That might be why she finds herself in the predicaments she does. She says something, media responds, she responds to media, media responds to her....a vicious cycle. If she is secure in her decisions enough then it would be simple to let the media rattle on at their own demise.

Reminds me a lot of bullies. Many of them talk tough and are quite ugly about how they deal with other people and, if they are supported in those actions, even by a few, it emboldens them to be even nastier in their approach. Once you've had enough, fought back, and punched them square in the nose, they crumble and talk about how "You didn't have to do that."

The main problem with Palin is she took the bullies approach to politics. She ran roughshod over those who didn't back her 100% and frequently believed her own press releases that she was "working with others" even though she was really frightening people into going along with her. For those who gave her the benefit of the doubt, she used them as far as she could, then turned on them. She talks a good game, using that bully voice until, like you said, the facts are verified. At that point, inevitably, someone else gets the blame and then, the last cry of the bully "You didn't have to do that."

The problem is that she kept herself in the spotlight. During the campaign they blamed McCain's staff for mishandling. Clearly she needed no help in that area. She has mishandled herself quite well. If you want the media to leave you alone you stay out of the spotlight. You make a simple statement about David Letterman that says you think he's joke was sophomoric and you won't dignify him with any further comment. Instead you twist his words into something about rape and go on record day after day with something new about Letterman. For a woman her age with the number of children she has (and several of them teenagers) you would think she would have learned by now to pick her battles. Sarah wants to be a martyr. The press picked on her - wah, wah. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen but don't blame anyone else when you set it on fire yourself.

You betcha, we will! Palin needed nothing other than her own belief that she could use her "fake it til I make it" brand of politics to be destroyed. It was "absolutely not necessarily" any one's job to make her look better than she was at her job. If she was so busy defending herself from those pesky ethic complaints, why did she take so much time faking outrage at what amounted to bad jokes? It will be interesting to see if she tries to spin this when 2012 rolls around, though.
