Mr. President. We need an explanation for your actions in this matter. Please step up. A supporter, becoming a very tentative one.

The entire civilized world has realized that healthcare is a right. This is basic morality here.

I will not support any Democratic congressman or Senator who opposes universal healthcare, and I think liberal groups need to really apply the pressure on Obama for this.

Bill Maher had it right. There is no real liberal progressive party in the US government. There's a center-right party, the Democrats, and an utterly insane party, the Republicans.

Maybe if we want people in DC who actually represent our views we should start voting Green.

You have the rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. That's all.

Observe that all legitimate rights have one thing in common: they are rights to action, not rewards from other people. The American rights impose no obligations on other people, merely the negative obligation to leave you alone.

Who or what gives the government the right to rob me and take my earnings and give them to someone else? Just because someone has more then someone else and you feel is is immoral for them to keep it; it is just as immoral to commit the theft needed to take it off of them.

Any member of Congress who does not work to pass legislation that benefits their constituents rather than moneyed special interests can and should be replaced by the people who put them there. That is democracy in action.

YES WE CAN! because representatives are whining to the President.

EVERYBODY IN, NOBODY OUT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAuwaKl3-nU

Email your House Rep and Senators (D or R) like I did, it's easy: http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml

Use my letter if you want...

Dear Honorable...

Thank you for your service and for representing my fellow constituents and me. National health care reform is underway and I hope you will please support a single-payer, not-for-profit system for delivering health care to all U.S. residents.

I kindly request that you advocate and vote for universal single-payer legislation that provides all individuals residing in the United States with free health care that includes all medically necessary care, such as primary care and prevention, prescription drugs, emergency care, and mental health services. Importantly, legislation needs to prohibit an institution from participating in the program unless it is a public or nonprofit institution. Legislation also needs to give patients the freedom to choose from participating physicians and institutions.

Though America has the best healthcare in the world, for those who can afford it, we also have the national shame of millions being either uninsured or underinsured. Please bring reform that will make us feel proud that America has the most humane healthcare in the world.

It is my hope that you will please consider my opinion as you continue in your honorable role of representing my fellow constituents and me.

Sincerely,

Yes Obama has the gift of speech, let's hope he has the gift of action--concrete, viable action on Heath Care Reform with single payer option. In other words, UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE. Action is needed Mr. President, not "just words...just words".

Hopefully, what the President is saying is that he is herding the Democratic cats and simply wants more general supporters of health care reform. He'll handle the details.

Now that they seem to have the savings tentatively nailed down, he may be right. There's no reason reform shouldn't save money -- they just have to be able to show evidence of that. Even some Repubs may find it prudent to vote for that.

Please Mr. President. I have supported you all the way. I have believed in you. I think you're dead on in how you're dealing with foreign governments and policies, including Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan. But here, I have to part from you. We're trying to tell you something, and all indications are that you're not listening. We don't trust the insurance companies. They have betrayed us repeatedly since inception, and now we learn they are spending $1.4 million every day to lobby against reform and a public option. We're trying to tell you that as long as they are at the table, we believe we have no hope for true reform or a public option. The truth of the matter is that we have no doubt at all what will happen to a public 'option' and it won't take long--the private insurers will undermine and eventually destroy it. We're trying to tell you that we've been paying attention to the reports and data regarding single payer in other countries and we want it, we deserve it, and you should be supporting us in attaining it. The private industry is solely responsible for why we rank 37th in the world in health care. What's so hard to understand? We don't want CEO's and shareholder's running anything in our lives, let alone health care.

Sir, Yes Sir.
Will do, soon after they start supporting the public option for healthcare and start working for the people, not the fat cat republicans.

I supported Obama since 2004. I worked almost 24/7 during the campaign. I don't want to stop my support now. However, a viable third party doesn't seem like a bad idea anymore. I just wonder if there are any honest public servants left, that truly want the common good.

I'm in the exact same position. I'm torn too. On the one hand, I don't want to jump to conclusions but on the other, the evidence is stacking up that all of Obama's bold words on cleaning up special interests and creating real reform was just that, talk.

The best lobbying tool the people have are peaceful mass rallies, teach-ins, lectures, stories, photographs, testimonials, t-shirts, YouTubes, etc. Large and vocal. Large groups marching. Big signs. Right now Congress is trying to make the debate between a public option and the current for profit option. We have to be clear that the public option is the compromise for the single-payer system. If we start negotiating at the public option level, we will get a frivolous plan plagued with problems and even destined to fail because it will be designed to NOT challenge the profits or ethics of the for profit guys. The only way that we are not going to get swindled out of an ethical and humane plan is to keep the debate between the single-payer option and the for profit option. That's our starting point in negotiations. And yes, the American people have the right to join the negotiations.

the best lobbying tool is for every Obama supporter to STOP DONATING $$$$ to the DNC and the Obama Campaign until real healthcare reform passes mandated by the American people in the last lection....it's obvious the attacks on the nay-saying Dems are having an effect and they are complaining to Obama to use his political celebrity to stop it...it time for us to amass, coalesce and start pushing back that we are not Obama political flunkies.

donate to the orgs that are running the attack ads on Dems who are pandering for the healthcare lobbyists instead of the American people.

I read John Kerry received 9.8 million....that is OBSCENE!

The insurance companies, the American Medical Association and the health-care industry can criticize any health-care proposal but, according to Obama, the liberals are supposed to stay quiet.
That means Obama has taken ownership of what Congress will come up with and, if it's weak, ineffective "reform," it will cost Obama big time poltically. His strategy is a disaster.

The biggest theft and swindle of the American people is institutionalized and nearly all our representatives are paid to cover it up. It is the Health Insurance Industry.

I agree that nearly all our reps receive money to cover up the health care swindle but they also receive funds from Pacs supporting foreign aid to a few countries, big Farma, and the GS crowd.

Attention all citizens of the United States of America: I want to emphatize what has happened to our nation. We are in the midst of becoming a Banana Republic..that is, if this has not already is an irreversible fact.
Here are two articles that should wake up the populace. Please at least skim the articles, to get the gist of what is happening.

I add this. Please note and scroll down to succession: TOMORROW
"In a secret executive order, President Reagan, who was deeply concerned about the Soviet threat, amended the process for speed and clarity. The secret order established a means of re-creating the executive branch without informing Congress that it had been sidestepped, or asking for legislation that would have made the new "continuity-of-government" plan legally legitimate."
