Palin Resignation Splits GOP

Sarah Palin

Politico:

Even those who were less critical of her choice were taken aback by Palin's rambling, hard-to-follow news conference by the side of a lake outside her home. The performance had shades of Richard Nixon's "You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore" news promise in 1962, as well as Mark Sanford's bizarre exercise in self-revelation just last month.

"Sarah Palins resignation splits Republican Party". It don't take much to get the Rethugs excited does it? Here they are in a tizzy over Sarah (and letting folks know about it); are they are thinking we will be too distracted by this to remember the Mark Sanford affair? What is it with Repug Governors nowadays anyway are they all going nuts?

Palin has a history of getting her way by fear and intimidation. They seemed to work in small town Alaska or even as the governor of Alaska. As Gov, she had power that she could hold over people.
She thinks she can control the citizens of the USA by using these same techniques, and trying to censor anything that "offends" her.

Gee, welcome to America Palin. Seems you need a little schoolin' on the First Amendment.

Also too, She just quit her job and gave up all her power. She will no longer be in a position to "control" people---she has no position, no title (that she said she doesn't need)-----no power.

It appears that Sarah Palin has her sites set on anyone who exercises their right to freedom of speech. She listed MSNBC and Huffington Post along with a few others such as bloggers and radio host's who dare to speculate about her reasons for resigning the Governorship. Her lawyer says those people and anyone else who make unfounded claims about her will find themselves involved in law suits. It would seem that is the real reason Palin has stepped down as Governor. It seems she wants to be free to shut people up. She claims to be all about uniting the country while she is so very divisive in her public statements and her actions.

Did she just lie again? Her Lt Gov said she spoke with him on Wednesday and told him her intentions. Palin just said in her latest facebook rant that she has been discussing this with him (and key people) for the last 30 days. Does she ever tell the truth?

She can't even quit with grace. Palin is trying to censor American's----on Independence Day!!!!!

Unbelievable.

A lot of people cry for a third party. Apparently we now have at least a dozen.

Plus it will give her more time to read ALL the newspapers.

Palin is talking about a "higher calling" Does that mean she will be the female answer to Pat Robertson, and start a televangelist group? With all her baggage, I hope not. She has been dishonest from the start.

I feel anger towards Sarah Palin and I am trying to figure out the bases for it. (My approach to all anger is to name it and tone it down.) As far as I can tell the bases are as follows:

I feel anger towards powerful right-wing women whose philosophies are IMO harmful to women and children.

I feel anger towards politicians who campaign as Christians. I am Christian and believe that such conduct is crassly opportunistic, is dismissive of citizens who are non-Christian, and imposes a moral code on others that the politician and his family cannot follow.

I am afraid of politicians who interpret the Bible (especially Revelations) literally.

I am angered by politicians who oppose gay rights.

I am furious about the last eight years with the worst President of my lifetime and probably the worst president in the history of the US. Any Presidential contender who reminds me of Bush's shallow intellect, verbal incoherence, and cruel domestic and foreign policy frightens me.

I am angry at anyone who comes to the South and negatively inspires our most backward citizens.

I am angry about the McCain campaign's lack of caution in choosing its rhetoric about the nation's first black presidental nominee.

I am dismayed that Palin did not protect Bristol's privacy.

I am embarrassed by female politicians who overtly use sex appeal such as winking.

None of these factors in isolation would excite deep anger in me. Cumulatively they have had a powerful effect.

Republicant party will take care of Ms. Palin, for they stick together like glue, while the Dems destroy each other and don't believe in support.

Funny stuff. Wait until the primaries. Mitt will eat her alive.

As I've said before, she's a small town hustler who wasn't ready for the big time. And probably never will be. But she thinks she's on a mission from God and will probably keep thrusting herself on the public as long as someone is willing to front the money.
