The performance had shades of Richard Nixon's "You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore" news promise in 1962, as well as Mark Sanford's bizarre exercise in self-revelation just last month.

Regardless... as a complete novice to the Washington scene and to politics on as grand a scale as a presidential campaign, Palin had no business accepting the VP nom, and McCain showed incredibly poor judegment and callous disregard both for Palin and his voting bloc - as well as American interests - by selecting her.

I place 80% of the blame on his shoulders for an incredibly shallow, calculated choice and 20% of it on hers for going along with the scam.

The attacks against President Obama have been conducted by the mainstream media; at least with Palin, most of the attacks on a personal level came from National Enquirer type tabloids, and comedians. The President has had Americans actually attempt to take him to court to prove that his was not born in America; how much more shameful could that get.

Nothing anyone else has said about her kids is worse than the way she plmped them -- dragging a pregnant teenager and a Downs' Syndrome baby around like live props... oh, sorry, she made one of the other kids lug the baby. Her Lady Madonna act was one of the biggest pieces of political hypocrisy I've ever seen.
