The performance had shades of Richard Nixon's "You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore" news promise in 1962, as well as Mark Sanford's bizarre exercise in self-revelation just last month.

It WAS rather irresponsible to get on a plane in Texas, fly back to Alaska ( not telling anyone on board that you may be going into labor midflight) drive 45 minutes past a larger hospital so you can give birth in a clinic. Oh, and she was leaking amniotic fluid the whole time. Oh, Oh, it was also her 5th child and she knew it was going to be born with difficulties!!

Nobody is trying to lop off Palin's head. Hillary was accused of far, far worse things. Palin is a quitter. There is no way to sugar coat it. She was sought and was hired for a job and then QUIT because the going got rough. America will tolerate a lot, but one thing they do not like is a quitter.
