NEW YORK — The memorial for Michael Jackson may be a tough ticket live, but it shouldn't be hard to find it on television.

ABC, CNN, MSNBC and E! Entertainment are among the networks that have already announced plans to offer live coverage of the Tuesday memorial, set for 10 a.m. PDT in Los Angeles' Staples Center.

ABC is sending anchor Charles Gibson to Los Angeles for the story, setting aside its typical daytime programming. CBS anchor Katie Couric will also be at the Staples Center, although the network has not yet said whether it was offering live coverage of the memorial.

NBC is not planning live coverage, but will wrap up highlights in a one-hour prime-time special Tuesday night.

CNN has seen its ratings soar with the Jackson story, and it will show the memorial on the main network and HLN (formerly Headline News). CNN International will air the ceremony to the rest of the world. Anderson Cooper, Larry King and Don Lemon are the anchors for CNN coverage. Robin Meade, A.J. Hammer and Jane Velez-Mitchell will anchor at HLN. CNN en Espanol will also cover it.

Chris Jansing will anchor live coverage of the memorial on MSNBC. Fox News Channel hasn't announced its plans.

E! Entertainment will cover the ceremony on its television network and its Web site.

I think tomorrow will be the day I try not watching the teevee ALL DAY in the hopes when I turn it back on IT WILL BE OVER!!

I can't help but think I will be disappointed though. There is the autopsy and burial and the demise of his children to contend with.

Just sickening...and embarrassing that the rest of the world thinks this is what Americans want to see covered 24/7.

I heard that Farrah's dying wish was for all the children of the world to be safe.
That didn't take too long. About 5 hours?

actually, all great talent have always been..

What a cliche...in fact, not all great talent has been dysfunctional. For as many examples you can come up with, I can name at least three who were quite functional.

Finally, an honest appraisal of a child abuser by ex-music executive John Niven’s in his article in the UK Titled 'Bad! And very dangerous']. Yes, by his own repeated financial admission Michael Jackson was a Pedophile.

I have avoided the media hype all last week by not reading listening or watching any reporting of the death of the ‘King of Pop’. The outpouring of sycophancy by responsible members of the forth estate was enough to make me wretch.

Since homosexuality became legal here in the 1960’s various intelligence agencies have used children to blackmail abusers to do their dirty work for them. Whilst various governments, businesses, intelligence services used abuse to get information or hide the pedophile in their own midst.

It’s easy to recognise the entertainer who gave me Billie Jean and Thriller, but to ignore the man who got children drunk with the sole intention of sexually abuse, no I cannot turn a blind eye to this. And those that have should hang their heads in shame. It is not six months since we in the UK learnt about the terrible death of ‘Baby Peter’. And we were shocked.

We should be shocked, repulsed and disgusted by the lack of recognition of Michael Jackson the Very public child abuser?

The networks aren't going west , they're "going round the bend". They have lost
any sense of proportion.

What with Sanford and his tryst is Argentina( I didn't think anyone would notice)
to the "Cariboo barbee " resignation in Alaska, I am so glad We will have Al Franken in the
senate. He'll be the only one who understands what is going on.

What happened to Sanford and Palin is genuine news because these people have real power to do real damage and these events by discrediting them reduces their ability to do so.

I can celebrate his musical genius but personally draw the line at deviant acts with children. From Roman Polanski, R. Kelly, MJ to other celebs, what child will be too afraid to speak out for fear they won't be believed or the status of the celeb will override the truth? Back to reality folks.

when it comes to MJ?? I don't.. that was extortion! on both counts-- for $$$'s.

truth wils out in this instance.. and that by is now 29 yrs old.. in fact, I'm fed up with the media protecting that wretched family!

In the end, Michael was a tragically pathetic figure. He trusted too many people too indiscriminately and gave out far too much money. He was not ready for this world; a child to the end, and it was a sad end.
