Obama Bemoans Golf Swing To Russian Reporter

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says he doesn't like his golf swing and the ball never goes where he wants.

Obama told Russian state-run Rossiya TV and ITAR-TASS news agency that he's been working on his golf game lately. However, he disclosed in the interview that he hasn't had much success.

The president, who has been playing golf most weekends with aides, says he thinks he should be good at the game. Yet his shots never seem to go straight.

Obama played a quick nine holes on Saturday before a Fourth of July picnic at the White House.

The White House released a transcript of his interview on Sunday hours before Obama heads to Russia for his first trip as president.

I'm actually happy that he is a leader that shows the importance of occasional recreation. Without it, anyone with a lot of responsibilities can become overstressed and end up making REALLY bad decisions. Our culture is overly focused on working 24/7 and it simply isn't healthy, physically or emotionally. The important thing is that he's getting results when he is working. Time will tell.

Being president is more than getting to ride in the big plane and having somebody cook all of your meals. There is work involved. You know - a job - like the 2,000,000 jobs that have been lost while you pose for the cameras and work on your golf game.

even bush was careful to not be seen on the golf course every week while soldiers were at risk. with the economic crisis we are in it seems inappropriate thats all. like he could care less. Im not an BO hatr, i'm a supporter but I can see why people are not impressed watching him play golf when we just lost another 500,000 jobs in June. I think if this trend continues he will have only one term and they will loose both houses in 2010.
