Shooting those steamy scenes with costar and real-life love Stephen Moyer only makes it easier.

"Obviously, if you're already with that person then you're not having to sort of get over the 'Wow, I'm naked with someone that I don't even know the middle name of!'" she laughs.

It seemed like a show I might like and there are good people in the cast and yet I find the mix of violence, vulgarity and silliness unrewarding. I just can't get into it. To each his own.

I agree with you whole-heartedly. I love just about every series that HBO puts out and always quickly become an addict. Especially when Alan Ball is involved (Six Feet Under is hands down my all time favorite TV show) but I just can't get into it. I don't mind violence, but sometimes it just seems like violence for violence sake. Also, the plot takes so many twists and turns and never seems to answer a lot of questions. Like why is the bar owner a dog? Why did his family leave him and all his belongings behind - I mean that's way too crazy....I've told myself that I am gonna finish out this season (they keep saying my questions will be answered) but if I can't get into it.....heck at least I tried.

His adopted family was freaking scared and they abandoned him. He's a shape shifter. We knew there'd be one showing up because it was foreshadowed by Bill. Good writing has foreshadowing. To each his own.

I don't know which is harder to grasp: Paquin & Moyer, or Sookie and Bill.
Season 1 was enough.

My thoughts exactly! Of all the tormented vampires, he is the most compelling. Don't you just love the way he turns a phrase (w/ or w/o clothes)?

I LOVE this show. Anna Paquin is wrongly casted as Sookie Stackhouse, but she's not so horrible that I can't watch the show. In fact, Alexander Skarsgard is by far the best actor of the bunch and steals every scene he's in. Great show, I highly suggest it!

If you read the books, then you know that the description of Sookie in the books has her much taller and curvier than Paquin. Also, sometimes I think Paquin is "trying to hard" as Sookie instead of it feeling "natural". I don't see the chemistry between her and Stephen Moyer's "Bill Compton", but I hope the series goes in the direction of the books and ultimately Sookie ends up with Eric. Of course I'm a bit biased... I think Alex Skarsgard is the hottest man on the planet earth!

We probably are in the minority on this, but I agree with you. I am not feeling her at all in the role and I don't think she's all that good of an actress. But, CLEARLY people disagree with us. lol. It took a few episodes for me to learn to just.. digest her. I love the show, overall.

What is it with leading men and leading ladies in vampire-themed stuff?

Nude scenes get easier as more checks get deposited in the bank.

The worst decision they made in the X-Men movies was casting Anna Paquin

A fine actress, but completely inappropriate to play Rogue.

I prefer to think of that movie Rogue as coming from some unfortunate offshoot of the multiverse, since she had only a passing resemblance to the source material.
