Bush Library: Saddam Hussein's Personal Handgun To Be On Display
Guardian:
George Bush is not a man who does irony. It's not in his personal vocabulary. Take the exquisite irony behind the story of Saddam Hussein's gun.

What an understatement that is.
By the way, is there going to be a waterboard on display?
Georgie doesn't own that Glock, the Natl Library does. Where does he get off having it and planning on putting it in his library (along with his copy of "My Pet Goat")?
Didn't little georgie "liberate" the gold plated guns that belonged to Mr. Hussein? The ones a soldier went to prison for trying to send one home.
OMG, must run to get in line to view the gun, NOT! This the stupidest article I've ever seen...mr. always-on-vacation president who got a standing ovation from small town Oklahoma!
I don't think they have enough American flags in the courtyard.
The Glock 18 is a selective fire variant of the other pistols, meaning it goes full auto. Why in the world would S. Hussein want that? if anything its unnecessary and speaks of inferiority, which I guess would be obvious. Either way, it certainly doesn't convey the sheer image of raw power and determination that Patton's dual, ivory handled Colt .45s conveyed.
Since the real reason we invaded Iraq was to feed GWB's ego, this is the perfect centerpiece to his library.
I'm wondering what the building is in the picture, since the George Bush library is still merely theoretical. There are still disputes over property acquisition, community resistance (including the Southern Methodist University community AND some well placed voices within the Methodist church) as well as funding questions.
It is fitting, however, that he will have the gun on display at the library - he has a much better connection with violence than with scholarly pursuits.
Will the library have all the contracts given to Halliburton and KBR too and how their shoddy work resulted in many american soldiers death?
This is "war booty" which belongs to the Iraqi people--not George W. Bush and his personal shrine to himself.
He can put it next to his favourite comic book.
How's the donations coming for the library? Last I heard they were having a problem getting donations needed.
Why would this not belong to the Iraqi people?
Maybe he should put the WMDs that we found on display also.
What? Osama's AK-47 isn't going to be there? Must be an oversight.
