I'm waiting for a true hybrid; One that runs on electric batteries only for the first 40 miles before the gas engine kicks in. Also, Toyota and Honda are taking their sweet time to bring a plug-in hybrid to market. They don't like the prospect of selling a vehicle that can last up to 30 years. Yeah, probably would have to buy new Lithium ion batteries from an OEM manufacturer every 10 years, but so what. That's still a lot cheaper than having to buy a new car.
The days of people having to buy a new car every 5-7 years is coming to an end and the manufacturers don't like it. Jajajajajaja
I'll keep driving my old toyota corolla until I see that plug-in hybrid available on the market. Some smart manufacturer will bring one to market.
Go Aptera!!!!!

The Fusion hybrid remains in electric mode as long as speed is under 47 mph. At 48 mph the gas engine kicks in.

Memo to CEO of GM, Ford, & Chrysler:

You're right, hybrids will never sell.

And special recognition for GM's sensible plan of scrapping the EV-1. Keeping it could have caused confusion among its customers. Now they aren't confused. They are just buying elsewhere.

I don't know if you actually read the article, but it was about Japan, not the US.

Notice how the hybrid sales don't translate into the US. http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2009/07/top-10-bestselling-cars-june-2009.html

Regarding the EV1:

Build a bridge and get over it. That is all.
