I hate the way the dead are slandered. Why didn't this book come out when she could defend herself? Anything for money. BTW, I doubt this book is anything but a pack of lies.

I am living in Africa. In many tribes, when a brother dies it is the responsibility of the brother to take the widow as his 2nd wife. It insures she will not starve and the children will be raised by the standards of the family and not be rejected by a stepfather­.. It is, many ways, a far more civilized way than what is practiced in the western world. In my estimation, we have to many foolish rules governing how people love and interact.

Bobby and Jackie both lost a loved one in a most horrible way. If they found solace in each others arms, so be it. Such tragedies often bring people together. We each deal with tragedy in different ways. I think Ethel understood this and accepted it. She was a wise woman.

And then in this country, there is no such tradition. Jackie wasn't going to starve. Bobby, and then Ted, both looked out for Jack's kids. It doesn't mean they slept with Jackie.

That wasn't the important part. It would make sense that the two closest people to JFK would find simple comfort which might have led to a protective intimacy of some sort. When it comes down to it doesn't amount to anything more than repugnant gossip. It's not our business at all. The human heart finds it way of surviving in all sorts of manner. But certainly not by being shredded in discussions like these.

Yes the Borgias always give the Roman Catholic Church that aura of sanctity as well as the long approved practice of castrating little choir boys to keep their sweet voices sweet. So the idea of "taking" your brother's wife I find abhorrent especially when it was commonly practiced for centuries throughout Italy to keep power and wealth in a family. Tsk . Tsk. All those asexual men in crimson floor length robes and picture hats telling the rest of the world how to live. The ones who "never" experience the pains of love or sexual attraction because they're doing it spiritually with God.

This is essentially nonsense. If you read the Post story, it claims Mary Harrington, a Palm Beach socialite, saw Jackie sunbathing topless at the Kennedy estate in 1964, and Bobby stuck his hand down her bikini bottom. Except that was Rose and Joe Kennedy's estate, and there were always grandkids there at holiday times visiting grandma, and the idea that something like that happened where people could observe it is ridiculous.

Uh, yeah, but the point is that there was always family, servants and friends all over, especially at holiday times. Jackie was hardly afraid of Rose, but the idea that she or Bobby would do something like that where others could see is nonsense.

I dunno . . . doesn't really sound like something Jackie would do -- she had more class than to bang her bro-in-law . . . maybe Bobby had the hots for her, but I doubt it -- I think it would ahve been obvious to everyone, and it wasn't -- he might have been infatuated with MM, instead (a la Mark Sanford & Maria Chapur) and just looked dopey-in-love around Jackie or whoeverrrrr.

Jack and Bobby certainly weren't above sharing women and were enamoured of the 'Rat Pack' lifestyle. Within a short time period we get stories about Jackie with Bobby, McGeorge Bundy, Marlon Brando. Several years later tabloid picts of Mrs Onasis showed she was not too shy to sunbathe topless.

There's a difference between her sunbathing topless on a Greek island where a photog took long distance pictures, and her and her brother in law groping at the family estate where people can easily see them.

Woman in Europe sun bathe nude. Jackie Kennedy was worldly . You don't have to leave the USA to like sun bathing in the buff. Also tan lines are avoided this way.

I don't understand this fascination with having to know the sex life of a person who is deceased. It only becomes a curiosity when someone brings it up. Otherwise it has no importance. Can't we keep some good thoughts abut these individuals who colored our lives and were truly dynamic. Who do we have today that gives such verve and energy to the world of politics or anything else for that matter ? Who has Jackie Kennedy's class? Or the vigor and intelligence of the young Kennedy brothers? Who are the wunderkinds?

Can't we just let this people keep some luster and shine? What will it hurt?

It was obvious at the time. No one that I know of held any hard feelings to either of them for it because of their immense loss and grief. It was understandable. Time to move on.
