Kissinger: "Obama Is Like A Chess Player"

In a long interview with Germany's Der Spiegel, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger compared President Obama to a chess player making an opening move.

SPIEGEL: Do you think it was helpful for Obama to deliver a speech to the Islamic world in Cairo? Or has he created a lot of illusions about what politics can deliver?

Kissinger: Obama is like a chess player who is playing simultaneous chess and has opened his game with an unusual opening. Now he's got to play his hand as he plays his various counterparts. We haven't gotten beyond the opening game move yet. I have no quarrel with the opening move.

Kissinger is indicating his interest in Obama's "opening chess move". That he is unclear about where he is going with his administration to this point but is not objecting to his beginning.

No they aren't Henry. Eliminate the power of the world's large international banks and the immense profits they make off of war and death, and you will see that most people--as opposed to "leaders" are peaceful and want nothing more than to live their lives that way!

There's a story about the duplicity of the Russians under the Czar--how cagily they played the game of statecraft, with wheels within wheels. It seems their Ambassador to France died. When told of this, the French Ambassador was said to have paused a few moments and then said, "Yes. But I wonder what he really means by it?"

Well, it ought to make Obama look better to the Repubs, but what will probably happen now is they will all start blasting away at Kissinger.

Right! Obama isn't delivering the change he promised and Kissenger prefers the preservation of the status quo. As long as the people in power retain their power, Kissenger is fine (because he is still powerful). If the economy had been dealt with correctly, Kissenger would be pissed! He, and all the powerful, greedy, "all for me and none for you" types would be lashing-out. But since the wealthiest people on earth are still getting wealthier, Obama is their man. I still live paycheck to paycheck. Can't afford to go back to school. Can barely afford to pay bills and feed myself. And if there is any money put-away, my car breaks-down and eats it all away. They are still eating lobster anytime they want. They still play golf instead of having to do something useful. As long as the status quo is preserved, they continue their stranglehold on power.
